Maybe if we stopped sending billions to Ukraine we could keep our roads in decent shape....

On Arkansas interstates we’re only allowed to use 6 or 7 percent of RAP. I remember one time we had a project where the company I work for now used old shingles to do a parking lot for a school. Not sure how long it’s gonna hold but it looks to be okay for now

Go ask the environmental people why they don’t boycott black top plants worse than refining oil , not including the temperature it has to be. In short the government gets big kickbacks from using black top

The issue with US is the policy maker focus on making cars the top choice of transportation. Instead, it should divert more into public transportation, including rails. It is better for the environment.

I drove across the U.S. three times coast to coast up and down. I must say; our highways (main U.S. highways) are Perfect. I can’t say the same about it’s inner cities that are left up to the Individual States!

So did I get this right? Recycling road material is seen as good for the environment by the government. So we can have better roads for more cars and trucks driving around, sending crap into the environment. Right. Cars and trucks will need to be augmented by trains. What we are doing is not sustainable.

You do know that all those companies CRH was compared to are owned by CRH. For a company raking in 100s of Billions from international governments yearly, they have extremely low profits. Also as they're registered in Dublin they don't pay any local taxes, another example of capital flight.

According to this piece of journalistic masterpiece, CHR is planning to distribute 960 billion USD (with a B) in dividends in year 2023 alone (time mark 7:54).

We have Fracking where I live, and these water hauling trucks really take a toll on the roads around here. Good paying jobs but our roads are crap. Wish they would pave them thicker so maybe those roads would hold up better.

They deserve the billions.
That's gross not net.
Most construction companies make less than 10 cents on the dollar.
Most of it is reclaimed in taxes that's why the bids are so high.
The end of the day you have a highway.

Not that the medical field is any glowing example of what is ethical these days, but a few things they do get right; please at least add a 'disclaimer' section: I challenge CNBC to say that CRH didn't pay for this interview.
I thought we were passed the days however of throwing around the word organic, as a seal on manufacturer for clean materials. CRH moved its stock to the US because profit gains is all that is on anyone's mind there; congratulations to the shareholders on their increasingly accessible share of a giant that flashes bills of clean energy to purport to be apart of it. And nice finish with Texas A&M--you're welcome Charles Gurganus--to speak on clean infrastructure; welcome to the circle Texas A &M--take a seat next to CRH

Why are we paving more frequently, roads don't hold up ( using cheaper quality materials) psi rating must be low.
And
Also trucks are way heavier on roads. So maybe we should use that type of weight to smooth it out.
Just a thought for your
"The solution "
Recycling old into new also
Instead of just dumping anywhere

Keep deceiving everyone by using the word "recycle," "investment," and "jobs" by keep cooking and burning our skin by making this planet hotter. If U.S. Government really working on climate change by going green, they shouldn't fund asphalt much as they should. By the way, I'm sure that nobody notices that this country's groundwater is depleting all due to laying down the asphalts and concrete (prevents the absorption of rain water) on top of the natural ground (absorbs rain water and filters down below the ground). And call this as "investment" on climate change. What a infrastructure.

If you go to DC the roads are immaculate, even the roads built during the roman empire are still around. Im pretty sure with modern tech they could build roads that last way longer and cost way less. But we all know that doesn't align with American values. They got to keep the scam going.

I lived in Germany ten years and they tear up a long swath of autobahn many kilometers and do a two way on one side and rebuild the highway. Why not do that here in USA traffic will just move slower. I saw that being done in the state of Iowa some years back when they were redoing I-29, looked like a good job when they finished.

New subdivision streets are made out of concrete for the past 28 years in my region. Plus every Boulevard is 3 lanes concrete surface.
Only old neighborhood streets are asphalt made .
I think: concrete it’s the way to go . Asphalt needs to replace more often and I believe the industry is corrupted. why ?? The roads won’t last .
