Are you thinking about signing up for a coding bootcamp? Did you attend a bootcamp and got a job as a developer? Let me know in the comments!
ОтветитьYou can learn but you can’t get a job ( sad reality
ОтветитьI took a coding bootcamp and it was horrible
Got into huge debt
I learned nothing
Wasted time
Instructors would pee on the monitor to mark their territory
But im not gonna say which bootcamp it was so other people can suffer the same fate as me
I like how you have a diffuser next to your computer.
ОтветитьFact ! Thanks for this video.
Coding BOOTCAMP is good but they only guide you like you said. I am attending a BOOTCAMP right now but it’s more or less like self-taught. We learn everything on our own and virtually meet instructor once a week. I lover computer and enjoy sitting at it for 24 hours, I don’t mind. But as a beginner, the BOOTCAMP really hard for me. I love coding so far, but as a beginner I need someone to hold my hands and walk me through. As a novice, when you are given a problem to solve, you don’t even know how to start, you don’t know the first step to take, you are an infant, you don’t know the direction you are going, you don’t know the next step to take, you don’t know where you will end. That said it’s all up to you. Your classmates don’t have the time to help you, neither the instructor. It ends up, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!
So I agree 100% that bootcamps are good. Don’t get me wrong, there are many good bootcamps out there. But I totally agree with the producer of this video that bootcamps only guide you. If you want to be a software developer you have to teach yourself or find an in-person classroom to hold your hands and walk you through.
I tried a bootcamp for a week , we spent 20 hours learning variables !! Imagine that and the bootcamp was only 2 months and half. That bootcamp was rated top 3 in my country.
ОтветитьWell, I don't need to do bootcamp. Seems like many businesses require a 4 year degree and/or years of job experience, and they won't take anything else.
ОтветитьI feel like I’m watching the same video over again, It’s little too old to hear all the time about that I’m gonna need to put lot of work. No offense, help me with video like what’s your journey, what are you focus on right now, let’s go with your journey.
ОтветитьYou are helpful person thanks
ОтветитьI recently joined a bootcamp and it has only been 8 weeks and god I've learned a bunch of shit. However, make no mistake, if you have the self discipline to sit there and teach yourself a bunch of shit for 10 hrs a day... then forget about the bootcamp and do self taught
ОтветитьI've been self teaching on/off over the past year, but have had difficulty staying focused. I did a bunch of research and finally found a bootcamp I'm interested in that seems to genuinely care about their students. I'm attending their prep session (for free) in a few weeks to get a taste of the program but since the actual program does not start until December, I plan on taking the next few months to try and improve my self-study habits and to get on a consistent schedule. If it works out, then I won't do the bootcamp, if it doesn't, then I'll have a backup plan and also be more prepared for a bootcamp (which will be helpful as they're quite fast paced).
ОтветитьWow...how refreshing to find your content that is realistic and not all happy about how to learn coding...resonates a lot!!! Thanks!!
ОтветитьI just finished my bootcamp in July with DigitalCrafts (it was 4 months). I loved it. I had a small class size of 10 people. This is the average head count for each cohort from what Ive heard. Some have less students which is probably better because you'll get more questions answered by the instructor. On top of that I have ADD and never had a class bigger than 20 students growing up so having 10 classmates while doing it online was actually not bad even though I agree with Dorian. If you can find an in person bootcamp do it. I do recommend this program though for anyone who comes across this comment and is shopping. I've been there. Took me a few months before I decided on a bootcamp, but as Dorian said on how they wont act as a free pass in getting a job is true. You really got to do the work before bootcamp ( a plus), during bootcamp, and after bootcamp.
ОтветитьIt's a reminder that my mindset and perspective has changed towards the world but it seems that having a mentor or having mentors and one's life has always been a more popular thing among men than it is for women, never understood but you don't really hear of women seeking out a life coach or getting a coach to upgrade or improve their life
ОтветитьI bought Python Crash course for $20 on amazon, and am currently participating in cs50p - Harvards introduction to programming with Python, as well as cs50x - Introduction to computer science. Both courses are free and albeit of course not an actual "institution", the knowledge it's has provided me has been an immense help in starting my similar journey as of July 4th. I spent my 20's touring the world in the music industry, partying, etc all over the world, and much like you have decided to find a new path, to hopefully find some success in this world as well. Thanks for all your insight as well, having a similar story to yours has been a huge inspiration <3 Also if anyone else is looking for a place to start, I definitely recommend checking out the cs50 courses as they are absolutely free! Just takes a bit if your time and a drive to learn a little.
ОтветитьCheck with some of your local community colleges, they may have cheap coding camps specific to a language.
ОтветитьWould anyone recommend the free Harvard cs50 course ? I’m doing free code camp atm and aim to do the Odin project next, but I was considering the cs50 course as well.
ОтветитьTake a shot for every time Dorian says "learn how to code" 🥃
