I loved your video and was anxious to try this, it is a completely satisfying feeling to finish each hexagon. I have made about a dozen and loved each one. My question is about washing them, do you prewash the fabrics or what is the best way to wash the quilt if you had to.

I have a question. When you sew the paper in, it stays right? Sorry just making sure I get it right lol

I've actually been getting my fabric from op shops! I ask the employees which sheets have been on the shelves the longest (those are more likely to get binned!) and buy them. Less stuff goes in the landfill, lots of yardage, and cheap compared to the proper fabric stores. Plus it's been pre-washed already so I don't need to worry about washing my quilt in the washer when it inevitably gets soiled by the dogs 😂

I love what you are making and how it is made. I have never made anything this way, but I love the idea and plan on starting one after I watch your tutorial. I love how you have two quilts in one! But more than that, I love how back piece is folded towards the front and folded over to make it’s own binding. I like the concept of working on one piece at a time. It really is a lovely project to take with you. You have picked out beautiful fabrics. Thank you for another wonderful video.❤

I love all your videos about this quilt. I must not start another project until a few more UFOs are done, but it is on my short list of next projects to plan in my head until such time as I can get started.

I am currently working on a quilt of this kind, inspired by your videos. I was initially planning to have it finished by February 2nd, when my baby is due. But now I think i want to wait until she is here so I can include her date of birth, birth weight, and how many cm she was!

Ive only recently found your channel, I find your vidoes very calming and a joy to watch so I just wanted to say thank you for this. Ive sewn for many years but only recently got into patchwork and I am trying to build up my supplies and fabrics. I have lots of embridered items from my mother who is no longer with us and also one table cloth my father embroidered many many years ago. I have them kept in a bag in a cupboard and have always thought its a shame not to have them out on display. Your hexagons have inspired me to toy with the idea of incorporating them into a similar project, I think they would look lovely with a mixture of liberty prints, not sure if Im brave enough to start cutting them to do this but hopefully I will be! Also , thank you for sharing the links to your fabrics, I love the Acufactum fabrics they are so different and beautiful.

What a terrific project! I’ve already spent a small fortune on vintage fabrics, embroidered pieces and of course new fabrics - after a long serious illness (I’m on the mend) this is exactly what the doctor ordered. 🌸

Emma, the whimsical pattern choices of material, along with your relaxing measures you take on quilting it reminds me of long ago when my grandmother taught me to quilt with her quilting circle. We would sit for hours quilting, hand stitching and sharing stories of past generations quilting. Your doing a beautiful job of keeping the tradition!

You're right it's not big enough for a quilt, but your could use it as a table topper, or add a few hexis and lay it on the foot of your bed, or the back of the sofa, or display on a quilt rack. Now I'm not saying stop working on it. I'm saying display it/use it in between the adding of rows. Right now it could be a table topper or hang on the back of your easy chair, as it gets bigger then move it to your bed or sofa. 💖🌞🌵😷

Because this is a memory quilt, consider adding some dates or years. You could embroider your son's bday on one. This year on the lilly of the valley block. The year you purchase your home on the house block. Etc. 💖🌞🌵😷

Hi Emma, such a beautiful project … can I please ask how you are measuring the Hexagon template? From straight edge across the top , from the middle etc . I have a 3” hexagon template measuring across the top straight edge so how much bigger will I need the backing template? 3/4 “ I’m thinking, is that correct please? Thank you for your time in making these wonderful, calming videos x

Emma as I always say I so admire all you make, you always find such fantastic fabric. I wonder if you could list a few places for me, I have looked at many different places but never manage to find the type of fabric you find. I wish I could be as clever as you. It’s most definitely something special you have. And gos you design things you make, plus so enjoyable to listen to you talking to us. Thank you.

Lovely video, beautiful work...I've been making these for over 20 years. Currently, I'm working on a scrap quilt...I've just recently started an ig account where I share it in stages.. yes it gets a bit difficult choosing how you want to finish the edges or to leave as is...tfs and may you have many happy slow sticking days .
