This is AMAZING
ОтветитьI started playing Final Fantasy XIV in 2016 and now it's my favorite MMO. I remember working on Square Enix when the original FF XIV was being developed and the QA people at the time agreed it wasn't ready to be released. What a comeback story.
ОтветитьFinal Fantasy 11 wasn't for me. And that's fine. But I remember trying FF14 and it was just a WTF experience all around. So bad.
ОтветитьH1500. Iddea logl
ОтветитьI watch this docu once or twice a year, this story is so fascinating and inspiring :)
Ответитьsurely Yoshi aged fast in 6 years o my god.
ОтветитьYoshi P. just casually wearing that necklace of a certain knight's shield and breaking my heart lol
ОтветитьBungie needs to watch this
ОтветитьPlease consider finding and interviewing the key people that made Final Fantasy 7, the original, and make a documentary on it. Ask them about their inspiration for the world and how was the transition from 2D to 3D, how did they figured out what the game should look like in 3D exactly. It would be the best documentary ever. FF7 is the best FF and arguably the best RPG ever made.
It is not ideal, but maybe, to finance the project you could pitch the idea of a two part documentary where in the second half of it you talk about the remake and it's upcoming release. You know pitch them as a sponsor opportunity for marketing their remake. So we got an amazing part 1 and a soso part 2 but you get paid to make it.
I find myself watching this documentary at least once a year. With the 10 year anniversary approaching very quickly, this has an even greater impact on me tbh. FFXIV grew on me and has been my favorite game for 3 years now. Right now, I'm taking it slow, but I'll never stray too far from this game. It's such a special game to me, my second home. I am SO GLAD they managed to build FFXIV into the game it is today, and while not everything is perfect, I am happy to have found the game, to be able to play the game, and to have found a place of comfort in this game.
Your documentary is so amazing, I love to watch it and when I see the Gobbue Wall, I feel tears welling up in my eyes. I just appreciate this game so much and love to learn about 1.0 and the amazing story of FFXIV's rebirth.
Happy (almost) 10 years FFXIV! Here's to 10 more!
Época que era feliz e não sabia
ОтветитьSitting here in 2023, marveling at the wonder FF XIV is, being called one of the best games of all time and definitely one of the best stories told in a game of all time.
ОтветитьComment tribute
ОтветитьMost of this does not make much sense in fact of which or how he said it.
ОтветитьMy guy predicted FF16 when he said Mythos
ОтветитьI have now watch this like 3 times I love it
ОтветитьXI is still the GOAT. 14 is for casuals
ОтветитьCan someone tell me if there's a playable archive of the original ff14 because if there isn't I would really like one.
ОтветитьKomi fox the GOAT
ОтветитьEven SE CEO need to ask if he can said more about it.
ОтветитьGracias a la gente que tradujo este documental ...muy interesante la historia detras del desarrollo del juego
Ответитьthank you for the Spanish subs, i am glad to watch this documentary of my favorite game n.n
ОтветитьSuper interesting. I love this channel, thanks for what you do!
ОтветитьDanny has man boobs, he forgot his bra in America...
ОтветитьCrazy how it's now officially the number #1 MMO in the world.
ОтветитьTurn it around, give me a break... people need to stop pretending that FF is great and stop been mad at WoW...
Ответить1.0 is the game that made me realize that I must be able to jump in a game. I died once, to jellyfish during a levequest. If I’d been able to jump I’d have been able to run away, the map had a tiny slope that prevented me from running over it. So frustrating!!!!
ОтветитьHas anyone made fan servers for 1.0?
ОтветитьIn 2022, it's the most played mmo.
ОтветитьFive years already and this video still motivates me. Thanks for making this!
Ответитьi love hearing about the developers and localizers behind ffxiv.
It's my understanding Koji is behind 75% of the pop culture references and puns in the game and that gives the game a metric ton of charisma.
Also Koji had it backwards. FF11 resembled the MMO experience like everquest, anarchy online, a little bit after 11, lineage 2. WoW was a redheaded stepchild that brought the MMO experience to the most common denominator.
When they were taking applications for closed beta my roommate with a @ dated pentium 4 system was accepted while my application was rejected.
I'm more surprised at the fact that a company actually admitted they were wrong and took the more difficult route of completely rebuilding a game to give people the kind of game they had their hopes for instead of choosing to break even and call it quits like most do today.
ОтветитьF.F. fourteen was a disaster game... the "reborn" of it is like a phoenix... 😮
ОтветитьFor those of you who aren’t aware of how much yoshi-p means to ff14, he is basically our equivalent to Jesus Christ
ОтветитьI know it probably sucked for everyone that worked on it, but rebuilding the game from Square one (pun intended) was the right thing to do. It was the right thing to do for monetary reasons and it was the right thing to do to honor the gamers, especially loyal Final Fantasy fans.
ОтветитьIt's wild to watch this after playing for close to two years and starting to read the short story collection for it that released two days ago. Like this beautiful game that I love so much really born of a deep and long struggle.
ОтветитьIt might seem like it was a good thing to revamp the game but to be honest... now years later the game just seems repetitive just different than what I was hoping. Don't get me wrong Ive enjoyed 2.0 but something about 1.0 that still calls me.
ОтветитьBro couldn't even put in the effort to not butcher yoshi-p's name
ОтветитьI remember playing 1.0. Was so dissapointed I put the game on the shelf and don't even remember the ending of the servers or calamity story. But coming back to ARR was awesome, well beyond my expectations of what they were going to do. To this day it's my favorite game. Played FFXI lots too and going from XI to XIV 1.0 was sad, thinking that the great FF MMO experience was coming to an end. Square Enix is the best gaming studio to me. So many of their games are part of my childhood and gaming life.
ОтветитьWhat's up with long and cringy intro sequence?
ОтветитьI love getting to hear Koji’s story in this. We are so, so lucky to have such an incredible localization team. THANK YOU KOJI.
Ответитьnot a single adult haircut in the entire video....
ОтветитьIt is late for this and I doubt you'll see this because I think this will get buried in a sea of comments. I want to thank you for doing this, a few years ago I did my psychology thesis with a classmate in our last year of college and we decided to do it about FFXIV, we quoted the video as a source to explain some things from the game. Once again, thank you for your work c:
ОтветитьThanks so so much for this documentary, it's not only inspiring as heck but shows that's wether or not a game comes out good, a lot of the time the team really does put there heart into what there making
I'm so glad this story got a happy ending 💚⚡️🌟💛
Plan B: "Burn it!"
ОтветитьOk …. I’m downloading ff 11 now. For some reason I haven’t gone back to it for so long unlike so many other mmos.
ОтветитьDon’t get me wrong I love the game as it is today. But I do really miss the original version. It was so much more hardcore and I wish the game today was more of that rather than so much on rails MSQ that takes months or years to get through and entirely alone solo playing.
