DLSS 3 Frame Generation UNLOCKED for ALL RTX Cards?!?

What do you think about the possible outcomes? Will modders be able to bypass this "lock" for many other games? Or will NVIDIA somehow lock this "ability"?

NVIDIA you greedy scum...now a modder figured out how to bypass frame generation on older gpu/s...turns out nvidia is locking the feature to rtx 4000 to sell out their newer cards while AMD is offering their frame gen FSR 3 to older gpu's including other brands....now is the best time to switch to AMD...

If framegen produces a fake middle frame based on the previous and the next frame, why doesn't it work for all sorts of titles?

"DLSS3 might not perform as well on older cards" = bullshit they use to sell the 40 series. It can and it will benefit any generation having the hardware to do DLSS, period. Even after standing to make 300 billion till 2027 from their AI business, nvidia seem to be more preocupied than ever in squeezing every dollar they can from the enthusiast gpu niche, they one who made them who they are and on which they basically shat on more than ever in their history with the last 3 generations of cards. They really deserve a general boycott in the near future.

the only way to make DLSS 3 frame generation work on previous gen cards is to flash the bios with a VBios that changes the name and signature to trick the card that it is a newer 40 series like those Chinese scammers do on to cards from 2004 and make em think its a 1050Ti. if the game saw a 2070 as a 4070 then it would enable the FG function

DLSS is nice if you want fidelity option.. just enabled new DSR feature with deep learning resolution.. and wow.. I looked at the magazine which I usually could barely see a Name of it and this time even the main headline was clearly visible...but DLSS 3 if all it does is frame generation I am starting to lose interest in it.

Currently i am playing 3060 in witcher with fsr2 quality i am getting 60 fps but not with dlss

Recently got a 4080 and tbh in real world gaming, any artifacts introduced by frame generation really has been noticeable for me on my display. Maybe it depends on your screen but it's basically been a nice fps bump for me and the base frames are high enough for me not to feel much latency. So far I've been impressed with it.

Turns out this was all bullshit and nobody has been able to get DLSS frame Gen working on 3000 series cards since this one person claimed they had done it.

Nice I will never buy a card from them again. Guess they will lose about 10 K dollars from me in the future.

So, to get this straight frame generation in the past would be called clear motion, true motion or in general motion smoothing... Yeah no, I'm good I've seen what that does to video content running at 60hz and it looks like shit. Why would nvidia think that is a good idea?

Nvidia wants to sell the rtx 4000 cards the many as possible right now. If dlss 3 was implemented at the same time on rtx 3000 (or 2000) why the need to buy a new card if your card could perform high frame rates on new game titles? (rtx 4000 it's mainly for 4k gaming, who plays 4k right now?)
For this, I believe the dlss3 will be for now an exclusive feature of rtx 4000 but I believe also in the future it will come to the older cards because Nvidia needs to maintain competitive against ati.

Increased Input lag makes this single player only. And let's be honest, there will never be another $100 million budget Red Dead Redemption 2(absolute Masterpiece). Online gaming has pretty much killed any large budget single player development(sure there are exceptions, but logical folks don't rule by exception). And with the added input lag, you can forget about using that in VR, where latency and large amounts of high speed VRAM is king. I have a 3080FE, which is perfectly fine for my 1440p gaming monitor. However I triple monitor sim race and use VR alot(VRChat, Sims) and added input lag is a no no no no no for about EVERYTHING I do on my PC. So really, RT, Frame Generation, all of it is a mute point for me the vast majority of the time. The only reason I want a 4080/4080 is for VR. AMD GPU's are a big NOPE for VR unfortunately, well, the 6000 was. Lots of VRAM is important, but it's pointless if it's SLOW or bottlenecked(VR is similar to 4k but even more demanding for $1000 VR headsets.)
