I just bought my first gaming PC for $550 off Facebook marketplace. I had no clue what to buy but what I read off the internet, I ended up buying from this guy upgrading to a new one. It has an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and a RX 570 with 32 gb of ram. is it decent? I have no problem playin on medium settings but I want to know if I can play games on high

So, the i5 9600k does better in gaming - especially when overclocked, and smashes the 3600 in every game, especially when OC'd. Yet the 3600 can be recommended for gaming but the 9600k can't?
Can you understand why some people may have questions about your fairness when it comes to the 3600 vs the 9600k in GAMING? Even in your OWN gaming benchmarks in this review there isn't ONE game where the 9600k has worse 1% and 0.1% lows than the 3600 (maybe by 1FPS or so in one of the games, in the rest of them it smashes the 1% and 0.1% lows of the 3600 in the lows as well as average framerate).
Can we at least get some fair reviewing going on here for gaming. I don't care about Blender, Cinebench and all the other crap, but it seems to me you are simply lying over the 3600 being a better buy for gaming than the 9600k!

Just snagged a week old 3600 with retail packaging/unused cooler for $120. Swapped out my 2700x for it in the x570 Media PC and 2700x will go to my kids B450 PC.

Well, nearly 2 years later I can add that MY 3600 never had any significant overclocking potential. Bought the... 200$ CPU for 240€, used an aftermarket cooler from the start to avoid the trash stock one. CTR said I had a bronze sample and PBO failed to impress.
"So, yeah..." (as Buildzoid likes to say)

1.4v is so high tho! wasn't the max recommended voltage 1.3v? and wasn't that even prooven to be too high in some motherboard cases since they report wrong?
I wanna increase my IPC so bad with the 2700 but at the same time I don't wanna kill it in a few months

I got this for 200... cause a 70 dollar good I think motherboard.. userbenchmark says 9600k is better but this has 12 threads at roughly same clock.. guess we’ll see

Edit: turns out comes with a wraith cooler. Never heard of it but since I thought I’d be buying one this is the better buy.

Pop open Ryzen master and toggle SMT on and off at will, easy peasy. If the game you're into performs at least moderately better I would. It seems like a no-brainer honestly. Am I missing something?

Looking back on this now there's the one thing I like the most: Socket AM4, and that AMD kept their promise to keep the socket alive through several generations. (As compared to some other company doing the exact opposite).
That alone have made many users I've helped upgrading to this 3600 CPU to decide to stick with AMD for a long time ahead. Being able to reuse a system and upgrade the CPU and RAM for a long time into the future is really attractive by itself.

I'm considering a build using the Amd Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 ghz 6 core processor and an Asus Rog Strix B550 -F Gaming (with Wifi) ATX AM4 motherboard. Now the Ryzen chip descriptions says "4 2 GHz max boost unlocked for overclocking 35 MB of game cache DDR4 3200 support" the motherboard supports up to 4400mhz ram. Now would I have problems if I were to run 16 gigs of 3600 ram in this setup?
