Mine is almost 2. Very limited vocabulary, and even the words he does say, it's not consistent. Mine actually did babble a lot as a baby though, so I think it's strange he isn't talking more. All kids are different ....but dont stress them ....i think they speak when they feel comfortable....to say them...

Howdy! My 2-year-old daughter watches cartoons on TV but also plays, she has interactive toys and we play with her. We don't put it on the phone almost at all, and in the car it has a tablet with a holder in the headrest that we only use in emergencies (rarely). She recognizes a lot of things, responds to names and is very active, but not talking yet. She babbles on her "tongue", takes us by the hand if she needs something, and rarely utters words. Should we be worried?

My cousin babies the heck out of her boys. At 4 years still giving him a bottle without him even asking for it. Kept him in a high chair till 4. Potty trained by four because they just didn’t bother. He has significant speech delays, but is smart and not any observations of autism, however, her daughter just turned 5 and still in diapers even tho tried to potty train x 2 years, flaps constantly, jumps, she speaks but almost always in the form of echolalia. She plays alone and very clingy to her mother. Won’t join in with the other kids her age, girls, she has grown up with since birth. She didn’t join in the kid’s games at birthday parties, covers her ears when the piñata comes out. Even tho there’s no loud music snd the piñata is the type you pull a ribbon, not the type you hit. They have not made any mention of autism or any type of treatment for her speech delays or therapy of any kind. I felt the child was autistic, but when I saw her hold an object in front of her and stare at it and flap as fast as she could over and over, it pretty much clinched it for me along with everything else that she exhibits. The one thing she does not do is have meltdowns or outburst. She’s a very sweet child and a blessing to have around. She seems happy smiles often and content with her iPad. Thoughts.

My son is turning 2 in January and he is making more sounds and saying momma every now and then . His walking was delayed started walking at 11 months I feel like he does stuff on his own time because he skipped crawling I hope this is the same and that he starts talking sometime next year

My son is not learning and saying numbers and letters.
Lord please help my son to be come more intelligent and smart.

Every color is blue for my son rn but he knows that's not actually the color too. I'm getting frustrated. My sons about to be two. I feel like a bad mom. He is in speech therapy cause I signed him up for it at his daycare z it's a free program.

I'm an aunt, my nephew is about to be 2 and he used to say words but he regressed to a simple "ooo!" And some sounds like a dinosaur rawr. 🦕 His favorite. I'm worried.. I just want to be able to understand what he needs/wants, and simply to be able to talk to him.. I still do talk to him all the time. Maybe hes taking it all in. I know he understands what I say to him, he just responds with "Ooo!"

She is #4 out of 5 in my family
We have been on a wait list for speech for the last year & still waiting.

My son is 23 months. He babbles like crazy. I thought he’d talk early but now I’m a little worried. He says daddy and mama. But idk if he knows what those mean. We do lots of exercises but he seems uninterested. He would say words but it’s like once in a million.. He has said elf, cat, crab, elephant, apple. But if I ask to repeat, he doesn’t. I’m being consistent and persistent until his 2 year old well-child check up. Autism spectrum crossed my mind but he seems to be normal with everything else, he feeds himself, helps put his shirt and pants on.. so hoping maybe it’s just speech delay.

My son didn't say a word until he was 3. Every child is different . Some sit quietly yet take it all in as did my son. Even if children are late talking most of them level out with their peers at some point. Top of his class and bright as a button my son.

i think my son is having a speech delay too. he's leardned words but he forgets some of it as time goes by. i taught him the dog sound and everytime he sees an animal, he says "aw aw". i taught him mooo sound and everything goes mooo. he doesnt follow me like if i say "mama" , i know hes not autistic because he can understand things like get your shoes, or go drink your water. or throw this in the trash can. he also doesnt show other asd symptoms. Im guessing it's a speech delay.

Am I the only father who has seen this . My son is 20 months old and dr said he was developmentaly delayed. I’m crushed and feel so bad . He’s physically ahead he has been since birth the boy can run jump climb like it’s nothing. He figures out how to get passed baby gate . He just simply climbed over it . So I can see him constantly problem solving in his mind . I just don’t know what to think and currently I’m afraid for him .

My son is 19 months old n in my opinion he is very smart n response well, he learns stuff quickly, has good memory, knows is body parts, he follow instructions well n know exactly what he's doing I think he is genius, the only problem I have is that he's not talking just babbling n pointing, I think he is holding back n afraid to talk
