Love these idea's! ! I have to try some of these...Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьI like #3...but how do you know what order the numbers go for the lock? That could take a while.
ОтветитьCleaver guy
ОтветитьI love these. I would love another video for creative urban caches.
ОтветитьAwesome! I really hope I come across one of these things in the future. Do you have a video where you share tips on finding geocaches? (it can be really hard sometimes)
ОтветитьFun ideas! I had a cool camo tape measure cache for a few years, and cachers loved it.
ОтветитьYES, that's perfect, those are 3 awesome creative ways to improve geocache hide-and-seek!
Ответитьso fun! Thank you!
ОтветитьExcellent thanks 😊
ОтветитьThese are really great idea's for geocaches Derek. I really like when you give other variations of the geocache to use. I have a spare ammo can so you know that I will be making one of these creative geocaches! Thank you
ОтветитьAwesome ideas! Thanks!
ОтветитьThanks for this video !
ОтветитьThx,!!
ОтветитьI wish I could go do this. I can't because I don't have the cash to do it. I've cached most of the caches around me. But this is one of the funnest hobbies I've had. But these are great.
ОтветитьThanks alot Derek, I'm really new to Geocaching and have been looking into the different types of Caches I can deploy myself. I'll probably try and give all these a go. Awesome.
ОтветитьReally creative ideas, thanks for sharing them! We need more caches out there that are worthy of finding. I'd be so excited to find ammo cans in the field like these. I took notes!
ОтветитьThese are all amazing, and I'd love to make them, however, living in a region where there is snow possibly 5 months of the year, I would be concerned about leaving a combination lock exposed to the elements. Same with the tape measure. Any suggestions on how to protect these items from a wintry exposure? We did find a similar one with a tape measure a few years ago, but it has since been archived, and I'm wondering if it was because of the winter. Great hide, though!!
ОтветитьIs picking geocache locks considered poor sportsmanship? 😂 Lol
ОтветитьI may try these. Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьWTF is this about ?
ОтветитьOk, going to use the tape measure to hide a fake pinecone that animals keep wondering off with. How would you secure this in a tree?
ОтветитьGreat ideas!
ОтветитьStarting work on number three idea - first I think I’ll paint the ammo can- have to see how the plastic takes the paint- and I got a set of two padlocks off amazon/ that you can set the combination yourself- the ammo can has two end hole lock 🔒 areas- so they’re going to have to find a total of 8 numbers written on the can to get both locks open!!!! This will not being a p&g lol!!! Will post pics when it’s done.
ОтветитьOn that last cache with the magnets - couldn't it turn out to be four different numbers and then you would have to figure out which order it would be? ie 1234 4321 3214 etc. Is that part of it as well? or did I miss something?
ОтветитьThanks for sharing these. May not make these exactly, but some ideas to incorporate in future hides.
ОтветитьLove the last cache great idea
ОтветитьUgh. "Patience Cache". I would totally assign negative FPs to that if I could
ОтветитьI love this video! Thank you so much!
ОтветитьNice creative cache ideas! Thanks!
ОтветитьLove these cache ideas! Thank you so much for the info on the locking bolt for ammo cans. We've had so many discussions on how to lock a metal ammo can and that bolt fixes our problem! I also have been looking for tamper-proof locks. Thanks for the resource! I love the term "patience cache". I'm going to start using that term in my cache descriptions!!! 🙂
ОтветитьLove these.
ОтветитьLiked number three. Thanks for such a clear explanation and great ideas.
ОтветитьGreat simple ideas!
ОтветитьGreat ideas!
ОтветитьNicely done. We have found variations of each of these. All were fun to solve! Thanks for the shared link for the combination lock!
ОтветитьPatience caches I've mostly seen called needle-in-a-haystack, so that's a new one for me :)
All great simple creative caches, seen a bunch of them in various implementations over the years. Great overview and idea video!
And nice tip for locking ammo cans too.
The tape-measure cache could also be made as a multicache
ОтветитьI love your video. I also love geocaching and made a video, check it out.
ОтветитьGreat! I think I'd try some variation of the third one. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ответитьgreat idea's
ОтветитьLove them!!!!
1- the tape measure - I’m thinking of camo- ing the tape measure “box” for lack of better word- putting it up in tree, and using the key as pull down - wait never mind-, was going to incorporate it into that pvc birdhouse one- but that has a key hidden in it already- But, you could combine number one and number three- the pull down key to use as the magnetic detector- I love the numbers written all over the ammo can! Love them all- all simple enuf creative/gadgets that I can do- if I don’t start overthinking things!!!! Thank you as always for providing these for us cachers who love to make homemade hides!!!! I still would like to do an electronic type, but just don’t have the know how yet. I’m still putting out pvc gadgets and getting great comments and fav points- cachers so happy to have others than the usual grc, lpc etc etc around here!!!
Hey
ОтветитьNice ideas-a few suggestions that will benefit your viewers and the community. 1) If you're using a military surplus ammo can be sure to cover all of the original markings. 2) If you're using a padlock for your creative geocache, make sure you select one that is designed for outdoor use. Not all of them are.
ОтветитьThat locking notch is a great resource! Thanks.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this Derek! I am starting to hide caches and didn't want to just do micro or LPC. These ideas make it easy to be creative. Thanks again and happy caching!
ОтветитьPerfect! Yeah, those are 3 great, creative ways to up your geocache hiding game!
