ОтветитьAnother good reason to keep cardboard! 👍
ОтветитьWho is "They" and why don't they want you to know? Are gardeners conspiracists? Like your video otherwise.
ОтветитьThank you Dan!
ОтветитьIf you make your own compost, you can save the $$$$$ you spent on the boughten soil for that raised bed.
Making compost is not rocket science or as complicated as many tell you.
If you don't have a Saudering iron, you can use an incent stick.
ОтветитьComfrey does amazingly well in Colorado's variable climate. I wouldn't plant it near other plants. It seems to suck up the soil nutrients and deprive the plants near to it. That's my observation from trying to grow Bur Oak seedlings in the same plot. The seedlings furthest from the comfrey are the tallest and most robust. Also, you want the Boking variety that spreads by root alone. Otherwise it can take over your yard. Even the Boking tends to put up shoots where you might not want them. I planted a row next to the greenhouse so the plants would shade the vegies from the hot intense sun. Now I have comfrey sprouts coming up inside the greenhouse.
These are some great inexpensive ideas for setting up gardening areas. Thank you.
Hunt for old corrugated tin water tanks. Cut em up and bingo.. Also hunting for Logs in state forests is another cheap route for raised beds. Using plastics for ur garden beds is not great and as they degrade they release hydrocarbons into ur soils. Better ,cheaper and environmental options than
plastic bags yall...
Useful tips. But... who are "they" who don't want us to know about this? And why don't "they" want us to know about it? Is this some kind of scandal or is the title for this just click bait?
ОтветитьIm just wondering who is THEY? that keeping this secret from us? The secret garden organization that controls the world raised bed gardens,Or the Illuminatis?beter yet the Reach and Powerfull farmers!!!! Aaaa now we taking😂😂😂
ОтветитьNice idea but how did you solve the micro plastic problem?
Ответитьnever thougt to do this, what a great idea! when i only knew it earlier
ОтветитьThose bags will break down to micro plastics and will pollute your soil and . I’ve tried it
Better do the grow bags fabric 😊
Thank you Great ideas xxx❤
ОтветитьIf you don't have a soldering gun (or a glue gun) : Take a wire hanger, straighten the hook with your hands, heat it over an open flame, press it onto what you want to melt a hole through, abs repeat.
You're welcome ❤🙏🏾🙂
Be aware that tarps a get brittle when left in direct sunlight for long periods of time. The burlap cover was a great idea.
ОтветитьThats a pretty cool idea. I'll have to try that next year
ОтветитьSo for $2.20 for the bag, about $5.00 for some storebought dirt, and I'm estimating between $5 and $10 for the burlap, I can make a $2.00 bag. Is this a government thing?
ОтветитьWhy not just use a 5 gallon bucket from Lowe’s?
ОтветитьHi! Thanks for sharing your insight. Love the ideas. You were probably asked this in the comments below, but I wanted to ask again where you purchased those large water wicking garden beds that fit in the kiddie pool.
Thanks again for sharing.
Great info, thank you!
Ответитьmicro plastics is a macro concern. Better use just card bord, and create a bushcraft basket from branches as inside scaffold. Outside still covering with burlap, but also using inside the branch basket, will look almost identical.
ОтветитьI am growing potatoes in Large sunflower and dog food bags. I filled them with compost from my pile. All I have to do is slit the bag to harvest and I can reuse the soil next year.
ОтветитьLove your ideas thank you
ОтветитьYou have a new subscriber. Great tips! Thank you.
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьThat’s a grow bag and I’m already doing that this year
ОтветитьGreat idea I would have never thought of it. I would have to know exactly what they're made of if I put food in them. Another good idea would be some filler in the bottom so you use less dirt.
ОтветитьHow long will the burlap last with the tons of dirt nad watering going into it?
ОтветитьMy problem is I dint have my own yard to garden anymore. I live in apt complex. I will save this video though. Why didn't I know this when I had my own yard. Bummer😳
ОтветитьAWESOME idea . bro
ОтветитьCardboard or burlap over bag is nice twist. Because Blue tarp material after a few months in the sun and it will start to break apart into zillions of micro plastic pieces.
ОтветитьAwesome idea I can't wait to start my Garden.
ОтветитьI need a planter for a tomatoe plant.. I had a blue bag & took your advice.. ty
Ответитьusing the bags do you have to water every day?
ОтветитьWhat type of plastic is that?
ОтветитьGreat in theory, but would not use this for anything longer than transporting. I don't want all of that plastic coloring getting into the soil - better to plant straight in the ground and use the cardboard as a seasonal garden bed siding.
ОтветитьLow cost growing solutions? I'm listening- those bags of dirt get expensive although saving on the planter certainly helps a lot in its justification.
ОтветитьI have a question about the safety of planting edible plants in the plastic bag intended for transport and storage. Is the plastic stave or will the particles leach out into the plants and food ? Also all plastic is coated with oils or powders to keep them from sticking to each other. Are these types of bags safe to eat our food out of? We have some ! Thanks !
ОтветитьBeautiful !!🎉
ОтветитьI think those bags are even cheaper if you actually get them from IKEA in person.
ОтветитьThankyou! I just cut all the grass off an old pile of soil that used to be a wishing well. I'm guessing the dirt and grass roots will serve as a good base, to top with soil. Not sure how im enclosing yet..maybe chicken wire, and cardboard. All i know is i gotta start somewhere, and get things growing. Went to buy a couple starts from a local organic grower, neighbor, asking $10, $20, and up , so i got a couple, but cant affordd lots of those,
ОтветитьLove the tip about the comfrey, and watching you build the hugelculture!
ОтветитьWhat is the difference between a raised garden bed and a big plant pot that will last for many years then?
ОтветитьIkea sells those bags for .98
ОтветитьWho is "They" ?
ОтветитьThank you for these cheap and cheerful ideas!❤
ОтветитьCan a fruit tree be planted in them?
ОтветитьThanks Dan. I sure did get some good ideas for my raised bed garden I’m starting this year! ✌️&❤ from Michigan.
