[NEW] Darth Maul footage is 10X MORE INSANE

The worst thing Lucas did with the prequels was the amount he cut out of them. Nearly everything i have seen cut from the prequels really would have made them so much better. Such a shame.

Prequels had a bad rap back then for many reasons, but as time goes by i think this films have aged very well. The sequal lightsaber battles are pathetic compared to this.

I know IRL reasons, but i always felt maul should have swung his saber out of qui gon either to the side or up.
Instead of gingerly drawing it back from its hole.
Seems unlike a sith to not at least gloat and inflict more pain over a fallen foe.

The Phantom Menace would’ve been a whole lot better movie had they had more scenes fighting with Darth Maul

Some good choreography mixed with some awful ideas and a pitiful win sequence. Seemed rushed.

To bad Anakin wasn’t in his prime, oh actually that would have been bad, he would’ve killed even more Jedi and not lost to Kenobi. But after killing Palpatine would a full potential Anakin be worse for the universe than Palpatine was… ?🤔

When Ray Park was making Star Wars and being al Darth Maul we used to go clubbing in a crowd to Trade in London and Ray was part of the crowd... clubbing with Darth Maul... good days.l

That throw and badass scenes like Mace Windu in clone wars punching the droids are needed... when the fighters are letting loose to show a glimpse of what can happen when you fully unleash and embrace the force. Whether Dark or light.

Darth Maul's death was weak and disappointing.

"old" count duku dueled vigorously. So, the comparison with "old" kanobi is day to night. First star wars were more real fighting. These new "fights" and more dancing omg..

The prequel fights definitely had more energy, but the speed of the fights betrayed just how choreographed they were. They FELT choreographed. The speed was not natural. And the thing with Maul grabbing Obi-Wan and throwing him makes no sense. If he was able to grab him, force him to drop his saber, then the quickest end would be to kill him with the saber. That's why it was cut.

And where is the "NEW" footage? I've seen every bit of footage in this video before.

Original choreography was more exciting and visceral than what made it into the films. The duel ending always felt flat and lame to me.

I just realized, couldn't Maul have used the force to pry him from the thing he was hanging on? Doesn't really seem like him to play around like that.

Episode 1 Kenobi was not his peak

The fight was to quick, and cutting back to the gungan battle and space battle was so distracting and boring. I just wanted to see the Jedis fight Maul..

Until they decided to jump the shark and bring him back. No I did not hate it and yes they at least made his actual death satisfactory

obi wan isnt really in his prime yet...just starting to emerge into the obi wan we know (hello there) ...i would say the only one in their prime in this fight was quigon....even darth maul was just starting to emerge as well......but yes best duel maybe ever in star wars

Funny, I was just watching an IGN video analyze this fight compared to actual sword fighting techniques and one of their complaints was how they just stand there while twirling their lightsabers, not moving around to get into better striking positions or overwhelm the opponent. It was likely due to needing to be in certain positions for the CG to do its work in the background, but at least in the practice shots, you can clearly see they are showing a great display of moving around the set to get an upper hand on the opponent!

I always thought that the way Obi-Wan beat Maul was incredibly silly and unrealistic. You have a guy in Maul that is fast enough and talented enough to duel 2 Jedi at the same time, yet somehow wasn't fast enough to react to a guy below him jumping all the way over him, landing behind him and slicing him in half. There's just no way in hell that should have happened.

Qui-gon had a certain set of skills. But not lightsabering.

I can't help noticing that, in several light sabre duels, obvious tactical openings are often missed by the combatants.

For me, Ian Mcdiarmid is BY FAR the best actor for the entire prequel trilogy ...truly outstanding work. Classicsl actors like him and Patrick Stewart (Picard) tend to be top tier actors!
