You're so right! I went from 10 subs to 700 in April '21 because YT put my videos on "browse". I just did an "episode 2" for my main video and it's landing on "suggested." I realized on my own that "search" wasn't happening. You're the first one who confirmed my thoughts. Thank you for the info.

I'll keep observing but my stats show me otherwise. Searched views had higher click rate and watch time than homepage and suggested, even though homepage and suggested were better. I somehow feel my videos aren't being suggested to the right audience. Perhaps a follow up to explain why this may be the case or what to do to grab and hold these viewers more than folks searching for content.

Hello, I am undecided about how important is audience retention. When I promote my video on other social media, I can get around 20% more views in the first days but these people watch the video much less so my retention drop from 50 to 40 for example. So what you think is better to promote the video and get extra views but worst retention or not promote and get fewer views but good retention?

Definitely seems to be true that suggested and browse are the longest term good traffic sources. When I look at my videos with at least a couple of hundred thousand views, only one has search as the main source, most are suggested.

For us recommendations are working better

I make videos in my regional language (telugu) and I also wrote title and description in that regional language also then I translated it into english (titles, description and subtitles too)

So, my question is English is international language so people normally search videos by english text

Howdy! Long time fan. Sincere question for the team at Video Creators: Does anyone feel as though the algorithm for YT does not like "older" channels? I'll use myself as an example: 46K subscribers, current avg video views around 200-400. If I may, even the Video Creators channel itself seems to be in a similar situation with the last video over 10K views five months ago (And funnily enough on the same topic). Any updated thoughts as we look toward the future of the platform in 2021 and beyond?
