CTR How to Air Brake & U-Turn... MUST KNOW TRICK! (CTR Nitro Fueled Tips #1)

The thing I just figured about air turns, especially for hot air way, is to hold break for longer, throughout the entire turn, not just a second.

Air Brakes an U turns are different

Because of big airbrake jumps being easier and more common, I think I find myself holding down brake too much in my u-turns, making my Turbo Track u-turns not go well anymore. or something.

Hey viperian, to do a u turn, do you have to hop then press the break and the use the direction d-pad

D pad location on xbox is shit. so I can't make use of the U-turn as often as I want.

need to position your thumb so the first joint is on the down arrow key, then the end of your thumb can be easily swivelled from left arrow/right arrow, using the down arrow as your swivel point. Dang young folk these days with their joysticks...:p

Well, I got used to the analog stick and just like you said it's hard to do it. I immediately try this trick after watching this video and this tutorial actually paid me off really well. It will take me some time to get used to d-pad but nonetheless, this is helpful. Thanks.

Any tips on how to transition quickly from analog (while driving) to arrow keys while u-turning? I have been practicing U-turning the past few weeks, but I still have trouble transitioning to and from the arrow keys.

I already use air-brake, but I use analog for that. U-turn is much harder to use analog.

I prefer your video's because they are of clear clean viewing quality and are to the point and show me exactly how to perform the move. As a beginner you have definitely helped me to improve my game. Plus it just makes it more fun.

Hell yeah. The best tracks to master this imo are Papu Pyramid, hot air skyway and electron ave. If you can do this, you will leave everyone in the dust. I’m comfortable on papus and hot air, I’m so close on electron ave .

This explains a lot. Ive been trying to speed run to the best of my abilities with only air braking, I didn't even know U turns were a thing. Ive had this game since it came out and have put many hours into it, this explains why ive never got close to rhw highscores haha. Thanks for the video

Probably stupid question but i don't recognize some of those maps. I've played original and nitro kart. Haven't seen those maps in nitro fueled. Are they only online or?

For Xbox w/alternate control users:

1. Go to Xbox settings on home screen
2. Find the option to map your controller buttons
3. Map the R1 button to dpad down (this swaps the functions of the two buttons) You can always go back and change this setting back to normal when you're done playing for the day, but it is indeed the most crucial step to the equation.
4. When wanting to Uturn, you must release the acceleration (R2) and quickly hit and hold down R1 (this would have been the down on dpad you would have had to hold down for Uturn which is almost impossible while using analog).
5. While holding R1, also hold brake (x). You must be holding R1 down before adding brakes or you will lose your fire.
6. Now that you are holding R1 and X, spam the L1 (jump) button while using left analog to guide your Uturn.
7. Once finished with the Uturn, release all buttons and resume R2 (acceleration), and drift as soon as possible to maintain fire.

I have done 101% completion of the game, and have gotten to only 9 more Velo times to beat, and just today learned this from watching The Viperian. I can't believe I didn't find this sooner but it has breathed new life into playing.

I do consider these exploits only because theres no tip in the loading screen or anywhere or tutorial in the game that explains to do this.

Btw you can just use the left analog stick without using the d pad at all. Just make sure you press break button and let go of the gas button
