Rogue Legacy 2 is a 2D platformer with strong RPG elements. According to the title, it is a continuation of the popular game from 2013. Both productions were developed by Cellar Door Games, also known for Full Metal Furies. The game has a simple plot, allowing you to play the role of an adventurer seeking glory and riches, typical of the fantasy genre. The mechanics of Rogue Legacy 2 develop the ideas from the first part. The basic gameplay mechanics resemble uncomplicated platformers. While playing, we explore two-dimensional locations, avoid threats, collect items and fight enemies. The entire world is randomly generated, so new challenges await us every time. In addition, there are RPG elements that allow you to develop the hero's statistics and advance him to the next levels of experience. The fun is diversified by roguelike mechanisms. Each death is final, although, as in the first part, this does not end the fun at all, because we continue the adventure as the child of the fallen hero. It must start the journey from the beginning, but all enemies killed remain dead. Each offspring has unique features that influence its abilities. Interestingly, if they are negative (e.g. overweight), it is rewarded with bonuses in the collected gold. There are several character classes to choose from, offering unique weapons. An additional attraction is a virtual residence, which we can expand and improve. In it, it is also possible to train children to prepare them to continue the adventure after the death of a parent. Game Modes Rogue Legacy 2 offers a single player mode only. Technical issues Just like the original, the game offers attractive two-dimensional visuals. However, the authors significantly changed its style. Rogue Legacy focused on retro graphics with large pixels. The continuation was made in high resolution, in a style inspired by modern cartoons.
