Great video. I have been riding GW for 27 years and I am only 57. One thing that HD has is the ability to customize the bike to make it your own. There are things you can do to a GW dont know. Like they make a kit to put the rear trunk on and off. Risers for the bars and other acc. Where I think the GW says it all is........ Do you take a passenger? Also do you want to go on long rides? I mean 100 miles between stops. I was in a shop once and heard a salesman talking to a guy and said what does your wife think?? If you do not have someone yelling at you all the time because they are uncomfortable. It makes the ride much more enjoyable. I have never been married and have taken different ladies all over the country. They all loved the ride and thought it was the best way to see the country. Before I bought my first 1800, a friend said don't test ride unless your going to buy. He was right. I have 95000 on the bike I have now. I no when the day comes for the DCT. I will walk in and drive one away. These new GW are like a cross between a cruiser and a rocket. Put it in sprot mode and hang on. It all comes down to we are all adults and ride what you want to ride. As far as cost? Someone said to me. You spent 30G on a bike. I said, you spent 30G on that boat. I can take mine to work everyday. Enjoy your ride.

2. piss-poor luggage locking system
3. piss-poor nav system
4. piss-poor android auto implementation
5. piss-poor design in terms of storage from the driver's seat
6. you lose that small storage space when the airbag is installed
7. I wonder if that glass is super-reflective?
8. bikes these days are just too damned expensive to warrant getting

Could that "plug" in the seat be designed for a back rest? I was going to trade for one this spring but Southern Honda Powersports didn't have one and slow to get them. They tell me it's getting better but I still like my 1800. Does anyone know the top speed of these bikes? I've had the 1800 to 130 mph with throttle remaining but I was out of butt. lol One thing I recommend is putting a good quality auto snow tire under the rear. I got tired of buying $200 motorcycle tires so I've had a run flat Michelin snow tire under it for three years. It's more connected to the road all the time but especially in the rain. It doesn't slide, I can drag the pegs with no surprises. I don't normally do that but I was testing the tire. I'm no expert but I like it.

So Goldwing or GSA?

I dont think the stigma of the gold being for old people is because of its characteristics, i think that its for old people because of the price tag. I doubt any sub 35 year old can afford a gold wing in this economy, with the needs of having a car, home, family etc. So only people with disposable income can afford a goldwing, and all the people who are younger will rather shell for a BMW 1000RR or any supersport / naked before going for a dresser

That “patch/plug” in the rider’s seat I believe is removable for a riders backrest.

This has probably been mentioned, but the plug on the seat is for the rider backrest accessory. That spot is where the mount goes through. But good review, You covered all the bases for sure.

I have r1200gs and vstrom1050xt. I know that Gold Wing is the best for traveling with my wife, but I am worried that it will be inconvenient to use other than when traveling. I am 174 cm and weigh 80 kg, and my current bike is 250 kg when I turn off the engine.

Horrible video. You should be embarrassed about this video. You were not prepared for this video. You were making it up as you went along and it shows. You expect us to spend our valuable time watching your videos and you don’t even know the product. “I don’t know” is unacceptable in this profession. You stumble around the bike like you’ve never seen it. Shame on you and shame on Honda if they loaned this to you. You are lazy

Great video as always. My dad has ridden Goldwings since the GL1000. He’s had every model since except the latest version because unfortunately he’s had to give up bikes due to age & health. I’m definitely going to own one at some point, best long distance bike there is. He sold his GL1500 with 280,000 miles on it. It’s now done over 500,000 miles & is still going. The current owner does a 130 mile commute every day.
I doubt the new ones will do that due to the electronics but you never know.

Very well explained - own a 2021 non-tour a couple of things I didn't see mentioned - the cover you said might be the airbag faux cover is opened by a button in the right side fairing compartment - it's where the gas tank filler cap is. Also, the only real negative that I've noted with 14K miles and three 3K + road trips is the accessibility of the air filter - coming on to the recommended 16K replacement - and it is a 3 hour task to complete - I believe the mechanic guide says 3.5 hours - lots of videos out there on how to complete - and I plan on getting my trusted mechanic to do it - way too many steps and cover removals including taking off the center console...
