Hello if you're watching this and you're about to comment why I copied the config through USB and why I didn't enter commands on CLI, the point and goal of this video is to show how we configure switches in real world, corporate setting. I am showing the realistic way on how we get it done at work so if you're expecting to see actual commands being typed/copied on CLI, then this is not the video for that. I didn't want people to think that we do CLI for every switch we deploy coz that's not realistic.
I hope this is all clear now. Thank you!
Thanks for the educative video. I work in IT but networking has been my weakest point but studying every other time to improve knowledge, using packet tracer too. The problem is I have worked with 3 different companies and everything was always already set up, so most times theres almost no way to actually learn on the job. keep up the great work
Ответитьmam are u filipina? nice video btw
ОтветитьHello,
thank you for your video. Since i am working with aruba only, this was a nice little introduction to setup a cisco switch.
Kind regards from germany.
Excelente video! sigue así!
ОтветитьTerrible audio.
ОтветитьAwesome videos!
ОтветитьIts a great leaning. Can i get a job in your company. I am from india. Kindly provide your mail id.
Ответитьpinay?
nicenice!~
Could you please share with us the USB files in order to take it
ОтветитьSubscribed you
Ответитьgreat video, why cisco still use that ugly interface, ubiquiti interface to config any device is so beatiful and very intuitive, they have its own cli but you can do everything in ui portion of the product, i love ubiquiti and its unifi segment by how well its interface has been made
ОтветитьSorry, but an AI Girl can do it faster!
ОтветитьWear a clip-on microphone somewhere near your mouth and keep the volume constant.
Ответитьyou cute af
ОтветитьYour content on It is great
Ответить¡¡Genial, gracias por el video!!
ОтветитьA woman with technical know how? Obviously she is a witch!
ОтветитьWasted 10 minutes from 1440 minutes today🫡
ОтветитьI'm a Support Technician and this is a really great video.
ОтветитьWho want the whole network tutorial practically like this.
Like the comment.
keep it up with these straight forward and guide. Thank you for clear communication!
Ответитьthe real networking starts once you deal with telco and dc grade equipment (nexus and asr families) but this is a good start for wanting to get into networking.
ОтветитьI want to learn to geek after watching this
ОтветитьThank you so much for this great video .i really feel more confident when watching this real and live switch configuration..keep it up
Ответитьlove it when someone makes videos like these not where people record the stuff on Screen and shows pictures of the devices , showing everything live makes so much sense thank you for sharing this with us. would love to see the complete config of a cisco switch not just copying stuff from usb..
ОтветитьWhat are u?
ОтветитьAwesome
Ответитьwhat country are you originally from
ОтветитьNice job and thanks for sharing this.
ОтветитьGood work and really happy to see girls into network engineering
ОтветитьIf you're ony change the IP and hostname than you shoud change the videotitle. It's definitely not configuring.
ОтветитьYeah, well... this is what we actually do in a real world scenario. Network Infrastructure Engineer here with 25 years experience (I'm 52) so yes, this is how things are done in the corporate world. Forget about wasting time on CLI, that's good for learning but extremely ineficcient for deployment, time consuming and prone to errors. The mere fact that some male younglings are harrassing the lady only shows massive amounts of insecurity, immaturity and obviously a great deal of jealousy because they're most probably ranting from home while she's employed and doing the job. Anyway, nice and refreshing video, far away from the home-lab-cli boring stuff.
Ответитьthank you
Ответить🤛🤝
Ответитьvery nice ty
ОтветитьRaw n useful
ОтветитьWhy did you have to copy the bin file? is the current ios version not up to date? you could have just skipped that if the version is already the latest. I wouldnt downgrade to an older version. you also skipped the command for the install process for the image.
Also copying a config file into it assumes you already configured that in a text editor and literally just load it.
This doesnt really show much to learn on.
Since this was supposedly your first time configuring an actual switch, it would have been best to show the process of upgrading the IOS, then showing the config or template in a text, edit the necessary lines then copying and pasting it in the CLI. you can learn a lot more that way. Loading up a whole config that has some wrong syntax somewhere, it's gonna take longer to correct.
Great content. Please how do I reach you privately
ОтветитьAccording to you or your experience, what functions should be configured for a layer 3 switch, or a layer 2 switch that can be managed, in a business environment?
ОтветитьWhy isn't there more vids like this. THANK YOU!
ОтветитьLove it.
ОтветитьMy imposter syndrome is hitting hard now. Great vid!
ОтветитьI love u lol 😂
ОтветитьAwesome video! I've been doing this for a long time now as a contractor working for many different companies. This video is exactly what I do with almost every new or repurposed device.
ОтветитьVery awesome video. Love the crash course you made here!!! Awesome!!!
ОтветитьI'm only stating this because no one ever explains why we don't just push the firmware upgrade to the switch using TFTP: The mini USB console cable has a transmit speed of 12mbps. It takes FOREVER to upload it. Plus, most enterprise PCs have TFTP disabled by default and if you don't have admin priv you won't be able to enable it to get by your local firewall.
You just taught me something new! I never thought about keeping a config template file on the flash drive. I just always copy and paste the config in the CLI.
You should make a video on the costs of Cisco switches and their components. It's always shocking to see how much these things can cost. I had to purchase a few c9300 UXMs and a couple of c9318's a few months back and my mouth dropped at the inital costs. LOL
What a great video! I really enjoyed it!
I used to do this at my last job and it was my favourite part! I always loved logging into switches manually and write stuff in the command line.
Thank you so much for making this :)
Have you though of using DevOps automation tools such as Ansible? That seems to be a lot of work and inefficient doing everything the manual way with a flash drive. Most Network and Sysadmins utilize Automation these days. The manual way of doing things is long gone which is why its important to have knowledge scripting and utilizing automation tools like Ansible, Puppet or Chef. Everything in Cloud Computing is also all automation.
