NEW 2020 M1 MacBook VS Previous Generation (speed test, performance, opening apps, start up speed)

The older generation mac is painfully slow. Even my i3 laptop with a ssd is faster in opening apps.

Hey this is a really good simple comparison! I just bought an m1 MacBook Air and am waiting for it to arrive, currently my old windows laptop takes about 20 minutes to turn on so just wanted to see what I can look forward to lmao. There are way too many people complaining in these comments

That is not full booting you SHlT because you turn on the FileVault, you have to turn off FileVault and turn off password for more objective result

Left mine closed for about 5mins and i guess it went to sleep? Tried tapping and clicking the touchpad, also tried the keyboard but still black screen while the keyboard light is turned on. Needed to press the powerbutton or close the lid back then open🙄

i just learned if you clicked Ctrl the video will open in new tap.

I'm using the m1 macbook air and I've noticed it takes longer to boot up compared to my dell xps

So u basically compared browser speeds on m1 against intel chip on a browser who isnt optimized for m1. u have 1000iq.

I know everything about windows notebooks and pc, but i never had any apple products.. ( i want the best for my money).. i wanted something fast and eazy for my gf so now i am giving another chance to apple products. As i can see, i can open 10 apps way faster while playing crysis 3 on backround, while your macbook is still opening chrome :D this is it ? this is that " insanly fast " macbook ? disappointed

Bruh.. everyone call macbook the fastest notebook on planet and another bullshits... i was doing same test on my 1500€ notebook, it shut down like in 3 seconds,, starting is about 8-9 seconds and everything what i want to open is insant :D chrome ? if i slow down your video and count miniseconds even mac with M1 chip is 70% slower than my notebook :D WTF bro :D i was expecting speed from another planet, but i am realizing that people are NEVER buying expensive windows laptops.. so they think, that macbooks are fast only becasue its the ONLY device above 1000€ that they ever seen in their life..
BTW THAT LAST GEN MACBOOK PRO IS ULTRA FCKING SLOW OMG! LIKE INSANLY SLOW... it is really opening chrome for like 10 seconds ? :D REALLY ?

I have M1 Air 16GB 1T and I’m disappointed. My 6 year old 15” MBP retina was sometimes faster than this M1. Restart is slower on M1, Adobe reader has problems, MS Office has problems. Rainbow ball is seen more than during past 5 years. Clean installation was not working properly. Battery management shows nonsenses. Auto brightness work badly. In 2015 I was happy. Now I’m not. Everything is only 1 week old and BS 11.3.1 is up to date. No time machine “dirt” downloaded. All new and clean. Only temperature and battery life is better for me.

This is not bootup screen this is standby wake up !

Dude i have purchased the m1 macbook pro but still i think the intel is better . Many apps crash and always says not respons . Even simple apps like whatsapp , progressive , shareit , handshaker app, downloader ,Etc.. . And also my macbook pro isnt fast as shown in the video , booting time takes whiles . Idk why your m1 macbook just show the apple logo then turn on . Mine isnt like this . It takes min to boot and bar belows the logo starts to fill up . One issue that I hate is my mac has a fan but it doesnt turn on when my mac get hot , So the keyboard starts turning to a be Barbecue that is capable to cook a meat on it .
So Im thinking m1 isnt good as the intel version except the battery life

your macbook air m1 is 6 hours behind on log in screen. I am having this issue but for me it is 3 hours behind... :(

My use is basically 12 hours a day using excel word zoom gmail sheets Salesforce.

What do you recommend air 16GB(7core GPU) or pro 8GB? Im concerned about the heating issue. Also not fussed about the touch bar.

Keep in mind this is unoptimized software running through rosetta 2 emulation
