TF2: PLAYING NEW HALLOWEEN MAP(S)! [Scream Fortress 2021]

I actually love playing on Erebus. For some reason I love the map, despite the cap time being faster than an old guy's load on a low dose Cialis pill.

almost all the new maps in this update are king of the hill, i fucking hate king of the hill games

The only piont that i actually possible to def is on the second stage, the second, once it actually happen

TF2's development is in a sad enough state already, but Scream Fortress is what really puts it into perspective for me. Remember when we got new entire boss fights, in a game that didn't even have PVE elements outside those seasonal events? Sure the maps weren't technically that new, but Valve would do us one better and add transformative gameplay mechanics that were built completely from scratch... and one-upping themselves every time, in the process! The first wave of Halloween craftables felt and still feel like legendary prestige items, the boss hats were so satisfying to collect just before the season ended (even if they were 'F2P,') and first-year Merasmus felt like a legitimate MMO raid boss.

What do we have now? Player destruction mode (not even that wacky or crazy of a gamemode honestly,) reused bosses and mechanics shoved into secondparty maps they weren't designed for, a pile of community-filled lootboxes and a set of disruptive contracts. It was bad enough when Valve stopped making their own content, but by this point it feels like they barely even test it. If the game's done, just say it's done, and wrap up development with some kind of celebration we can all be proud of.

I like the look of Erebus but the gameplay is very lackluster and just, really really not fun on RED.

I think so far of all the new maps my favourite ones are Los Muertos and Farmageddon.

Why do maps continue to have such high time limits on defense? Surely it would be widely understood that nobody wants to hold defense for so long by now?

After having played this map, I have the same opinion, it’s bad, visually it doesn’t look bad, but the gameplay is bad

I was playing on blood water on defense as medic We were almost winning and i got like 30 points than out of nowhere the server crashed and I lost all. My process that's why I hate the contract system when it totally rests by lost internet connection or server crash

Erebus is a lot of fun and I quite like the 3 sectors. A lot better than plenty of maps we got last year.

for some reason this map was the only thing the game would give me when queueing for halloween maps, I fucking hated it lol. Map sucks ass.

haven't played all of the new maps but for now this one is the worst. it's too confusing with too many paths that lack a sense of natural direction. y'know when u join a new map and u can kinda make out where ur supposed to go, this map lack that. I've played like 10 times already and I still get lost all the time. it's also very cramped and claustrophobic. like there's no reason to go gunboats soldier in this map, because 90% of the time in this map is spent inside of corridors and small rooms after small rooms. and the cap time is also completely unbalanced. this map is hot garbage

Feels like less chokey Dustbowl, which ironically doesn't make it better. Also, guaranteed random crits don't help either, rare spell sometimes dropping from spellbooks add yet another layer of bullshit.
By the way, he was still qued for competetive while playing that match xD

I like this map because it's fun to play in but balancewise its not in league

Honestly, Its still better than regular Badwater. The cap times are dogshit, but otherwise a pretty decent map.

what would make many of the Halloween maps better is remove the crit pumpkins and spells books, then some of the smaller maps would be more fun and less chaos unbalance for defenders.

When I played this I felt it was horribly attacker sided, my team got stomped on defense with 11 mins on the clock and such short caps then we switched and we stomped them.

i think the map might be a bit better once everyone’s played it a bit and know the best spots for everything

Challenge: play Natasha heavy on Hightower or Helltower

I actually managed to win on defense on the first stage, the enemies had 3 spies so I wrangled a level 1 sentry above the point and they couldn't do anything

I literally played a match on this ass map and stomped for the entire game until the heavy got random crits and capped at the last 20 seconds

I played like one full match of this map. On red side we lost first part instantly, but managed to hold second last, surprisingly. Then the blue side was a roll. Going back for contracts, and then never again.
