I use to live with my dad and was doing college full time. That was until my dad's diabetes became to much. He's health deteriorated fast. And as a result I lost my home and a few weeks ago I lost my dad to stroke. I live with my sister. But it's just rough. Now I'm thinking about just going for a associate degree instead of a bachelor's degree. My sister and I get along sometimes. But right now to me it's not worth it anymore. Sometimes I just think about dropping out. I lost everything and gained nothing.and feel my life is only going to get worse from here. Listening to nostalgia music, playing games from my childhood, and watching old TV shows is the only thing keeping me from ending myself. I'm 24 btw. And as I'm trying to pile drive through school. I can't focus on anything.

This video (the music) and its comments are incredible. The nostalgia is so penetrating; everyone commenting is so honest, it's striking how a childhood experience can become so deeply rooted in our emotions, this is a pandora's box for feelings! And in a sense, it's almost dangerous, depending on the effect of nostalgia in each of us...
What I find undeniably beautiful is the presence of this community. I feel a connection with all of these people who lived the same experiences as me when we were children, and now, as adults, we relish the anchoring to this past with more or less feelings.

I learned accumula on piano in college but never really mastered it...I should practice and upload TS to yt when I get the chance...I want to do well too

I've been struggling with depression for a while, and these last few days of just sleeping and feeling bad have been hitting kinda hard. I just hope I can pull through and start to live a life worth living, but in the meantime, I'll keep listening to old soundtracks that remind me of how fun life can be.

It took me back to the days of playing my brother's copy of diamond at night then hiding my ds under my pillow when I heard my mom coming... I wish I was that young again to re experience those days. atleast these videos brings some of that back to me. thank you for making this <3

When DPPt came out, I was just a little kid. My brother and I would be shipped off every summer during those years to our grandparents' house, or some sterile summer camp, or some other dreadful sendoff. We played DPPt religiously together, and my best memories from those years are just being together with my big brother. We had to ask our grandmother over and over for her wifi password to connect to the wifi lobbies because our mom wouldn't ever buy wifi at the house back then. We would sit and trade on the GTS for hours and hours, and play the games together. Playing through the story campaign with him always choosing Turtwig and me choosing Piplup (like a real life Gary to me -- go figure!) We would also have our copies of Ruby and Emerald, sometimes Pokemon Pinball RS, and switch between them. Our favorite console game to play together was Pokemon Colosseum. In fact Pokemon Colosseum helped me expand my literacy with its unfamiliar character names and odd localization choices. We would play Pokemon Colosseum all summer long and start new files together when we were done. Eventually HGSS came out and we loved those too. When Black and White came out he was becoming a young man and Pokemon wasn't cool for him anymore, especially in his social circles. I was subject to the same judgment but largely was naive to it so I continued to play. One of my last fond memories playing together was going to the Pokemon Black and White national promo tour together. He drove me to the mall. We got to play demos of the games, win stamps in a passport, we got a promo art booklet, and a cheap enamel pin, got to spin the prize wheel and each won a gen 5 starter plushie. I have all of that memorabilia to this day. To me gens 3-5 are the ultimate dive back into my favorite years of my childhood. Now we are older, we still get along great, but it is harder to find time to see each other. We are both adults with families and it's hard to see each other. I miss those days with him. Thank you for this beautiful time capsule which reminds me of those days.

I've been battling against my depression for about a year now. I'm glad to say I've come a long way and I've managed to find my motivation once again in life, and Pokémon ost always gets me going whenever I'm studying or drawing. I'm glad my life has taken a turn for the better :D

How is black and white nostalgic? Its like 10 years after the series started

Once upon a time, playing Pokemon Platinum, I told myself that one day, I'd make games and tell stories that impact me the way Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Sonic, Dragon Ball, Xenoblade, and many others have.
I'm on the verge of making those dreams come true - and as I do so, I find myself back at this video, just relaxed hearing Route 209 again, able to tell 8 year old me to never give up. As if I'm on the verge of hitting Victory Road on a lifelong Pokemon journey.
