Deepin 20 | The Most Attractive Linux Desktop

garuda vs deepin. they both look great. the only thing i hate is garudas reliability with it being a rolling release. had so many arch's distros that crap out.

Good as deepin is I'm still unsure if it's calling home to China?

Time and again the boot screen shows out of range, bogus!

It installs quick, then you have to spend 3 hours updating it in terminal to get everything working.

The main advantage I would expect from a distro based on Debian is nvidia proprietary drivers preinstalled or very easy to install. This is not the case, so I pass.

looks neat but when i installed it, it didn't boot, the recovery tool for the other HDD popped out instead. luckily i didn't lose data. i hope ubuntuDDE grows up healthy and strong

I installed Brave browser on it, after that gives error if want to install other programs, and can not uninstall brave too!!!

Evertime i install Linux of any version, my computer locks up, or, mouse don't work, or, downloads won't work, its a new problem everytime. What am I'm doing wrong.

I wont use it because it feels to bloated, similar like SUSE linux it runs too heavy compared to distros like Manjaro, Ubuntu, Mint etc... Also its developed by the Chinese which raised red flags and they already got caught in the past sending personal info to their servers

Deepin 20 is just beautiful but not feature environment of desktop. ti have big bugs and some packages have copyright .this is my opinion and thank you Tyler's about information

Ubuntu has a Deepin spin which I heard is pretty good, and on its way to become a full fledged member of the Ubuntu family which is awesome !

Well...i've put it native on my machine. (i5 8th gen on intel gpu). What can i say? Runs fine..installs everything, runs nice. I'm impressed with the desktop which has more of a windows/macos feel. Easy to get around. I'm impressed...i am..

Feren os in 2020 is leaving a lot of distro for the lightness and stability are its strong points, one thing that always discouraged me in a linux distro is the printer driver compatibility feren os is very well in that aspect installed in just one click.
Feren os for me is the best linux distro, the first version in 2017 really had a lot of bugs it was horrible but this distro now in 2020 very fast, you can download and install that you will not regret.
The feren OS team is to be congratulated.

One question I had about this is using a external monitor and being able to close the lid on my laptop. For some reason a lot of distrust make this quite difficult. Is it possible in this OS?

Maybe DDE works better with the spyware running in the background, tryed installing it on my current distro and it was JANK CITY. Quite frustrating, went to KDE Plasma and installed some Big Sur themes, much better.

Nice looking - I am trying to switch from MacOS but the main issue for me is keyboard shortcuts - I wish there was a distro that tried as much as possible to match keys like CMD+whatever. - I tried some keyboard mapping tools but what a pain.

Just upgraded from v15.11 to v20. A lot of improvements. Significant improvements in file manager, screen recording, printer management, App store, ... and so on. Good job.

Sorry to put this but I just don't trust that chinese app store and I am not very comfortable using a chinese liinux distro, mainly concerning about my privacy.... but I do like the DDE a lot, very nice and easy to use

that full screen onscreen keyboard is great for dual screen IMO

Google Chrome OS is the most popular Linux in the world, it maybe not as attractive as Deepin but I'm sure Chrome OS is very good, also it can run Android Apps. The problem with standard Linux is lack of driver, I'm sure it's not the case with Chrome OS.

what do you think the desktop platform between deepin 20 and ubuntu 20.04 with kde plasma 5?

To be honest, And it's a Chinese system, the UI is pretty good，deepin can't do much, so I install Ubuntu again。

(beautiful but ordinary, nothing works right, full of bugs never solves, store does not install anything! third time I try to use and it gives problems, I think I'll never test again!)

You can change the size of the dock, my resizing it with your mouse, like you would do with a window.
