I only met my grandfather 3 times the last time he was in a hospital bed and couldnt talk (he had esophageal cancer) and i told him i loved him and that id see him again (he only lived another 5 days) i wish that i had another grandfather or could have been with that one more but i guess everyone's dealt their own cards and have to try to win with what their dealt

When I was 20 years old in 2020, my ex told me she couldn’t be with me anymore. The next morning I got a call from my brother saying “ granddaddy just passed” I was so upset with myself. Blaming myself for not spending more time with him instead of that girl. I was so depressed. Got into drugs and got addicted to ease the pain. I wish I had 5 more minutes with him. I learned everything from him. I was even named after him. One day I realized he had a good life and i stopped dwelling on it 3 years later. I’m clean now. About an hour ago i learned that the ranch Ive worked at and ridden so long is getting shut down. Some of the horses are staying on the owners property, some are moving with the main trainer and some are getting sold. I’m moving with them, but I’d do anything for just 5 more minutes with everyone and the animals all happy and together on the farm just happy to be there and living. I learned how to ride there, advanced, and I know everything I know from the amazing team there. It was never for the money, I wasn’t even paid; I would just do anything for 5 more minutes with everyone. I’m not ready to say goodbye.
