andi BRAVO thank you! I would paint it Burgundy and yes sell it I love it 🥰, I saw the color drenching is back and I love it. Almost done with my office all goodwill furniture and thrifted items. I need a futon now lol 😂😂😂😂❤
ОтветитьGen Z will love the orangey wood as they love the 70s. Having been young in the 70s, I'm not going back. Red could work for the mirror, I had a bright red one in the 70s.
ОтветитьAndy, thank you, this is so helpful. I am totally here for all this new content you are putting out!
ОтветитьI absolutely love the red mirror as is. Especially in front of a burgandy/maroon color. It's so good together.
ОтветитьGive me orange over gray!!!
ОтветитьLived through the 70s - once was enough! Skirting is a night mare if you have pets - been there too. Love the red mirror.
ОтветитьI'm loving the helpful videos! If course I also love sourcing videos. My thought is to try the red mirror as is and see how it does. The paint looks pretty thick, so painting over it might not be a great option stripping it would take a long time. I've been having great luck with primitives. I'm going to list all of the large textile wall hangings I've been holding on to. Thanks Andi!
ОтветитьI love the mid tone woods making a came back. Always love it and had it in my house. I would keep the mirror as is. Very Scandinavian looking.
ОтветитьLove this, this is so helpful and to the point. Thanks for the great content you're sharing! 💛👍
ОтветитьWow, you and Lone Fox picked up the same mirror except his was black!
ОтветитьDefinitely keep the mirror the color it is. For one reason, it would be a bear to refinish (all those curves!) and secondly, I think the red it is, would be a great pop of red for any room. Thanks so much for these instructive videos - I have learned so much!
ОтветитьIve seen that exact same mirror in its original wood. It will look amazing if you strip the paint off.
Ответитьomg Lone Fox just shared that mirror in his antiquing video! I love the dark wood that it probably was originally, but the red would totally sell.. great find!!
ОтветитьI can't wait until the postmodern trend is over because I have loved it for decades and am not into it just because it's trendy. Hopefully I can start selling my chrome lamps and furniture that I've been into for 20 years for now. Videos like this give me a headache because I can't keep up with the trends, so don't even try.
ОтветитьNo one was excited about 80's mauve.... that died quickly.
Wallpaper is back in. And skirting might trickle in as half length skirting as a scalloped edge. It might be prints, or matelassé. There is mixing of french linen yet, natural colors that go with those warm woods if people are staying neutral with large seating pieces.
I still see warm metals not fading quite that fast because people didn't go deep into changing the stainless cabinet hardware, but might do it now in response to the grey wood going away. I see mid-century hardware on dressers, stereo cabinets, inlaid brass tubes becoming very popular.
Chrome might get some love but won't be full on just yet.
Cosy is definitely in, but controlled cosy.
Large focal art pieces are back to grab accent colors from, especially if there is no 'hero' fabric to grab the accent colors from.
I love the red mirror!
ОтветитьThanks for the informative video. Is it just me or are home decor trends starting to change as fast as clothing trends? I blame social media of course lol. I say buy what you love and ignore trends.
ОтветитьKeep it red…. I have always been a pop of red person. I bought my house over 20 years ago… & I’ve always had at least one item in each room red… I am glad I am back in style lol…enjoyed your video… thanks for sharing ❤
ОтветитьI encourage you to use the term wabi sabi/ethnic instead of primitive, especially if you describe items that are tribal in origin
ОтветитьI love the red mirror as is. Maroon shades might be on the trend ascend but this little red number is a statement piece that cannot be silenced with more muted shades !!
ОтветитьPaneling! No Please, Just No :) Next will be shag carpet. Great video as always.
ОтветитьKeep the Chinese red it already is! I love it.♥️
ОтветитьI haven’t bought into the cool wood trend…so happy to hear warm is back!
ОтветитьLove the mirror as is!
ОтветитьAdd some cold, touches to the mirror either paint or rubbing buff or gilding wax I think would look great - shuttle touches
ОтветитьDon’t paint the mirror! Love the retro scandi look of it!
ОтветитьMetals don’t go out of style. Put more than one metal,in a room. It makes things more interesting.
ОтветитьWrong.
ОтветитьKeep it red!!!
Ответитьred is not the color for that mirror
ОтветитьSo informative thank you Andi! ❤
ОтветитьAre you going to keep buying brass with the shift to cooler metals to resell in your Etsy shop?
ОтветитьI just watched alone Fox’s video about 2024. I love brown and reds.
ОтветитьGreat tips, thanks!
ОтветитьMidcentury bled into curvy. Think Vladimar Kagan, liver shaped tables, etc.
ОтветитьLet the mirror be itself.
ОтветитьThe red kind of looks Chinese red and would work great with people that collect Chinese furniture and antiques.
ОтветитьAndi - I think you know what you are talking about!
ОтветитьKeep the mirror red!!! The design of the mirror stands out!!! And now with the pop of red on it.....Well it is sure to be a win win!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
ОтветитьLove this video, what comes in and goes out makes my head spin but it's important to keep up. I love that mirror and the current red on it. I can seen it on top of a tall boy dresser or in a bathroom.
ОтветитьI appreciate watching your videos BECAUSE of your concise yet detailed information. Love the hauls - something about it JUST PURE JOY. One reseller to another.
ОтветитьSo, just curious if you're using any of these words in your keyword s? Like are you adding a "curvalinear" or "post modern" hashtag?
ОтветитьKeep it red for sure!!
ОтветитьKeep mirror red. Don’t change it
ОтветитьMy opinion is it doesn’t matter what it is to be primitive as long as it is old rustic pieces. 🗝️🏚️
ОтветитьThank you so much for this design trends summary! Last year I bought what I later learned to be a birthing chair for very cheap and it works great as a plant stand - I feel so validated now. And i'm starting to think that a pop of dark/moody red might be what my living room needs...
ОтветитьAt 1.25, there's an early 18th century, northern European carved wooden piece...Is 300 year old museum artifacts 2024's design trend?😅
ОтветитьAndi ☀️ Red please let the Red Mirror 🪞 stay RED ♥️
Love your videos. Love your forecast for design in 2024! I do have a question please how long do trends usually stay in style for? Thank you for sharing your wonderful wisdom & tips 😊❤
Unrelated to the video, but i love your shirt! Ive been looking for red/orange/copper silk blouse. Hope the thrift god blesses me with one someday 😂
ОтветитьSo, this may be a longer conversation (LOL) but for those of us that can’t completely redecorate every trend season… what are the best sort of transition pieces among these that can update your look without changing the whole thing? I’m liking the idea of adding an unexpected red piece. I gravitate more towards blues and greens but am not afraid of colour.
We are moving into my husbands childhood home - very 70s, lots of wood - and I’m not loving it but now maybe I’ll look at it with a new eye.
