Have 50 hours into it so far and stopped playing for now since there’s an update coming soon to fix some other things. But so far this is still one of my favorite games and have been wanting to go back to it since I first beat the story. I got it launch day and it took me like a year to finish the story. And I did Hearts of Stone but never completed Blood and Wine because by that time the upgrade got announced so I waited. And started over. God I love this game

The best QoL mods for OG W3 were the max loot mod and the auto-loot mod. I hate inventory management and the loot mechanism was also time consuming. So it made life easier. The time you save just from breaking down or selling your hard-earned loot was a life-saver.

Imagine if the talent and effort that is put into Witcher 3. Was put into SKYRIM or at least AE.

I love the combat system of the Witcher 3. Best part easily for me.

I REALLY want to like this game. On paper this game is right up my alley. Medieval RPG, swords, monsters, open world…it’s my kinda game! However I just CANT get into it :( maybe it’s the combat? I don’t know. I just can’t get into it

The close up camera was a game changer for me. It made me appreciate the world so much more than when I played it the first time. I've put in 60 hours in a week and I'm not gonna slow down anytime soon. I love this game.

Tried the next gen update yesterday and it was a nightmare after a 57GB download, npc has no voice and surround sound was pretty mess up, activate rt(only global illumination) and the nightmare intensify with a whopping 16 fps. Graphical glitch all over the place + heavy stuttering that left me nauseating. Tried to switch to DX 11 and the game crash, after trying all the so call solutions without any success i decide to roll back to 1.32 and again i was in for another 47GB download and since i had open my saved game in 4.0 i lost it on 1.32 so i have to start a new game. This should have been a separate download just like skyrim special edition and not an overwrite of 1.32, CDPR has lost my trust for good now and i have learned that the talented folks working there are mostly gone so that explain the downfall of this once great studio! After the roll back when i start the game i got a crash but it was their new loading screen that was left with DX12 so i had to change it back to DX 11 and as you guess the NPC voices are working and the surround sound is working correctly and i have 130 fps on rtx 2060, ryzen 5600x, 32 GB ram on 1080p. Now i will mod it before i start a new play trough and this video doesn't showcase the best graphical mods available sice you can make it look a lot better with a re-shade and changing the sky and water mods. Thank CDPR for this 48 hr frustration wasting my bandwidth with such a crap update, i know it's free but free doesn't excuse the lack of respect for people who have put you where you are now.

I bought this on ps4 when it came out...... played about 20 minutes and left it!!!! I've heard the hype for years and when I got an Xbox series x, I decided to buy it, then held off for the next gen updated, I've started watching the Witcher series on Netflix and I'm so excited to dive into this world over Christmas and New year!!!! Screw the family, I'm a Witcher for the next few weeks!!!!!! 😂😂

I'm having a problem on the ps4... I can't make a manual save, and every time I start it, it acts like I just got the game, taking me through the hub resize and the gamma thingy. Anybody else having this issue???

CDPR made billions off the witcher almost a decade ago, but just like Bethesda, they want us to buy another version of the game rather than make a new game in less than 15-20 years. Absolute trash. Not only did it install a launcher without anyones permission, and zero warning, but the game no longer functions very well.. i was just aying it last week, and the update ruined it. Im playing in 1440 wtih ryzen 5 5600x, rtx 3060, 16gig ram.. Im not at all hapoy with this "upgrade"!

Started today ps5 just finished white Orchid loving the new camera but prefer the old one for combat.60 fps makes the game a lot smoother and still looks great.

This update has been amazing, but I wish they added a press L3 for Roach as well, once to canter, twice to gallop. I always turn off auto camera centering when exploring and have gotten used to it, but I think an added horse control scheme like that would've been great as well.

The Witcher 3 ain’t that great or immersive. There is a lot of stuff that ain’t right in my opinion but people will overreact when you say the truth. Example: NPCs don’t really react to you… say you go to the Inn in Velen and you encounter the Barons Bandits who blabber about you having two swords on your back?? Well what if you don’t have 2 swords but a sword and an axe? Guess what? They still call you out for carrying two swords even if you don’t. Say you killed them right? Same scene their bodies simply aren’t there after the cutscene… trust me there are a lot of immersion breaking stuff within that game which make zero sense… or when you’re investigating something and Gerald starts talking to himself or whatever describing what’s happened or what not and then his own conversation overlaps with another 😂. Difficulty like death march is quite silly as enemies are just weapon sponges but what I appreciate about it is that you actually need to prepare for a fight which is cool, however the whole process is very clunky on a console just navigating the menu itself is a pain in the ass just too slow. Cyberpunk did it a bit better but it’s clearly built with mouse and keyboard intentions. Try the truly amazing RPGS and you will know what I mean Fallout new Vegas, Es Oblivion, Fallout 4, Es Skyrim, Elden Ring, Diablo 2, Path of Exile. All I’m trying to say is Witcher 3 is good but it isn’t that great as people make it out to be… have you played Fable 2? Have you played Mass Effect trilogy?

I might play if I can actually finish Skyrim for once . I’m at level 19 pray 4 me that I don’t make a new character once I hit level 25

When it comes to graphics, honestly, it's not bad but I'm not overly impressed in general... While I've experienced absolutely no problems running it on Ultra+ without ray-tracing and fps at 1440p was around 40 (never understood wanting 60fps for story driven games like this), at moments colors looked bleached out, the water quality to me looked less good - too much white foam. On other hand water in bog looked too clean! In the original it looks more natural, murkier since it's a swamp. Luckily, GOG allows to roll it back to the previous version, which for me visually looks much better, only added mods for wind (trees don't sway on wind like crazy) and more shadows mod where fire throws nice shadows from the cage.
My config is i7 10700(non K) 32gb 2666Mhz ddr4ram and AMD gpu with 8gb vram 5500XT and I was scared it won't be able to run it, but it did without problems (no ray tracing though), fps actually remained the same (34-45fps), I've noticed only higher CPU usage, around 25% instead of the 12-15%, ddr4 RAM usage was 1-2gb higher.

I have to laugh at your mention of 150 hours of play time since that is close to my current play time of Dragon Age Inquisition and I have yet to complete it and Dragon Age Origins I played 8 times with no less then 90 hours per play through. I'm not prepared for the length of time the Witcher 3 is going to take me with its expansive world and countless side quests. lol 😆

I tried out this new 4.00 update on my PS4 PRO and the foliage drawdistance in general, but especialy on the trees looks much worse then in the 1.62 version to a point where its quite immersion breakig because trees look like cardboards and starts to become 3D quite close to the camera now.

I can't love The Witcher as much as I hear others do. I don't hate it, I loved some of the sub plots but there's something about the world that doesn't click with me. Still going to finish it and I bought the GoTY edition a few years ago. Just haven't got around to finishing it.

Started NG+ last night after the update, looks amazing and so glad for the cross-saves. Now I can add extra items on the PC version, save and then transfer it across to my Series X to resume from there.
