So... What do you think? Am I right, or very very wrong? ⚠
ОтветитьBro I really really love what youre doing🥹💯🔥🔥🔥 ‼️
ОтветитьMaking music videos is ok if it don’t cost a lot
ОтветитьTERRIBLE TAKE
ОтветитьFantastically put
ОтветитьToo bad you're completely wrong.
ОтветитьI don't know anyone paying a million for a music video, and if you look at like Yeat for example, his videos are full of the craziest effects and shots you'll ever see. He ain't paying a million for a video.
ОтветитьFalse. If the title was ‘Music Videos Aren’t What They Used to Be’ I could sort of agree. But this is just a blatantly subjective opinion. Keep making those killer music videos, artists, we see you 🤘🏼
(Side note, I hate that this guy pulled me in with such obvious clickbait 😅)
W vid that help a lot
ОтветитьSadly I think you are very right. I love videos I love the creativity that goes into some of them...but hardly anyone watches them
ОтветитьMusic videos are promotional packages thee budget comes from 360 contracts from recording companies and artists don't get a dime they actually owe the label for the video and promotion packages.
Today what's the problem with getting attention? There's no more shock value.cgi has crushed the line between reality and fiction studio audio tune ruins live performance studio tricks makes the bib talented talented and the talented nin talented
. Bruno Mars Superbowl show spectacular but according to ratings puff daddy turned it out which was garbage why? You feed a child cola in a bottle all their lives they can't stand just water look around you of how many people and commercials dilute water to drink it they prefer music acts which are acting as musicians instead of real musicians Randy Marsh trying to show south park kid's how to play real cords to guitar hero
Well not spotify is changing as well to the point where it's like pointless using it
Ответитьspotify seems to be in trouble
ОтветитьWe don't care about rules and trends and industry. We love the art of making videos and we love to watch them instead of watching tutorials and tips stuff.
Ответить90% agree…. I follow a lot of bands… like a lot. As a music lover, I could care less about videos. I virtually never watch a bands video for a song.
Now the exception is social media. A music video can be a great content release to keep your band relevant to fans. And TikTok… this is where your video can convert.
stop making art, make more CONTENT
ОтветитьChill beats to " blah blah blah" videos have more views than any music videos combined that I can think of from new artists that dont have corporate backing. There's also cases where a video which only has the album cover art has more views than the overproduced official music video from many artists even corporate "artists"/products. Its 100% true to say that over budget, over the top, movie like music videos are dead and kinda pointless these days, especially from a low fan base low level non corporate backed artists.
ОтветитьRight. That's what I thought
ОтветитьHey Damian, I'm from India and TikTok is banned in India. What would you recommend me?
ОтветитьGood video and balanced, sound advice.
ОтветитьIs this true for rap & hip-hop?
ОтветитьTimes changed, now music videos undergone un-actualness, now it's all about short vertical videos in TikTok an so on..
Sad, fast food times, no depth.
I disagree
ОтветитьMakes complete sense to me. My daughter is in the process of recording songs. I am helping her with the marketing side. I have no experience in it but I have copious amounts of time. This has changed my perspective. We will still make a music video, but will edit it to short clips on the phone screen ratio and post each to TikTok and Instagram. Thank you.
ОтветитьWatch kpop music videos from some of the big labels to put an end to this theory rq
ОтветитьYeah, people! Stop making music, stop making art. Just make TikTok content!
ОтветитьMusic video's still feels more premium in my opinion. It also shows more ''image'' and maybe branding as well. But hey, that's just my opinion. Otherwise we made our upcoming music video for nothing ;)
ОтветитьPlz don't burst my bubble Damian, change is too hard, I'd rather stay in my comfort zone
ОтветитьMusic videos use to have great production the artist were great actors but now most singers today have no talent.
ОтветитьSounds like musicians should make music videos that they want and then promote the song AND the video with a ton of smaller videos on TikTok... win, win, win
ОтветитьNobody agrees with him.
ОтветитьNobody watches music videos no more
ОтветитьThe solution:
don't expect to make a lot of money with your art. That's a shot in the dark. Just do it because it means something to you. Every society has had art and music. It's part of our cultural heritage. It's not just a business.
I do think you're right, but I will say the examples you gave for music videos.. I don't know if that really counts. Some guy walking in front of a phone singing the song.. I mean, ya sure its a video about the music I guess, but really that's not what I think about when I think of a music video. I think part of the problem is that the quality of content has dropped drastically. If I come across a real music video that really feels like something special I'm definitely gonna prefer that to some tiktok clip. Regardless, your point is valid, that's where the eyes are.
ОтветитьNah videos are still important for the artist, just like a artist presskit and bio, tells the story of the artist, I would still like to see a video with the music, like a movie that tells a story
Ответитьthe more of your posts i watch the more i feel its utterly hopeless.
Ответитьbad take
ОтветитьI just started a music cover channel again and I’m seeing the difference from years ago when I used to post random cover songs on here. Then, I got decent traffic per video. Now, next to none. Nobody cares anymore. Shorts do OK but it’s kind of pointless to do a 30 second song. I’ll keep doing my videos because I enjoy it and don’t expect anything out of it. Too old to be discovered and don’t need to monetize. Still sucks to see that nobody cares.
ОтветитьEven You Tube scams people.
