Hello, I have been finding different ways to connect the hart communicator to the instrument.
1_Resistor in series with '+'
2_Resistor in series with '-'
And in these two cases, the hart communicator pointers are connected to the instrument's '+' and '-' terminals.
3_The resistor in series with '-' of the loop and the hart communicator with the leads at the ends of the resistor.
As seen in the manual.

Is there any difference, does it change according to the application or instrument?

This video is absolutely of no help. It is garbage. He showed HART using in H2O, and 0kpa t 1000 kpa, what a nonsence. Instead of PSI and or KPa he is showing something rubbish. hart protocol is hybrid digital and analoge, the digital consist from 4 values 1-primary 2-secondary 3-ternary 4 quarter, hart based on Bell202 with modulation of FSk.
Hart transmitter working with 3 type of command, 1- common practice 2- universal 3- specific
Each one have different task to do
Hart working with method of master and slave
Each loop can contain in maximum 2 master in one loop.
