I really want to understand which one best to increase my subscribers and views

But..... for what I see this is not a fair comparison since it was not compared by the same person/people, and usually women pay more attention to detais and he seems like he is not as harsh (for lack of a better word at this moment...sorry not native english speaker) than she is....

I spent most of my time on them and it seemed highly confusing to say the least.
I would still use tags, but not to overplay with them.
And as suggested, focus more on description part.
I subscribed after hearing this, because you confirmed my suspicions lol 😝
I mean cmon: our time is valuable and we should not waste it like that.
But what about tags 🏷 in shorts?

These tools are very overrated and now days SEO is tricky, they good money off of people because everyone is willing to try anything to get views

So, you are saying that neither of you pay for the services of either tubebyddy & Vidiq? But you use both free versions? Im a bit confused with the final outcome. Like if I wanted to pay for one to help me and my channel what one is better?

I have VidIQ and I have noticed the robust tagging system. One thing I think is misleading is that as soon as you start adding more tags, your Actionable score can top out at 50/50 but then your VIDIQ SEO Score only goes to 50/100. So, it makes you think tags work but then...you're only half way from making it really work?

I dunno about the tags not being important. My videos w tags do much better than when I don't put the tags in.

VidIQ’s channel audit feature is A stand out for me. While Tubebuddy’s thumbnail analyzer is da bomb.

Should have set up and discussed your likert scale prior to your reseach so you defined your 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 star meanings and made them more consistant. Would have also liked to hear which tools did what at which level of payment (free/paid) for each.

My YT analytics no longer shows best time to publish... but then they said it didn't matter in the long run when they did have it available.

Wow, this was unexpected. You guys were tougher than I thought. I assumed you guys would start promoting them and push the affiliate link. Early on I spent a lot of time exploring the free versions with both VidIQ and TubeBuddy especially TubeBuddy. I even subscribed for a while and kicked the tires. While they were nice to have early on, over time, I've not found either compelling enough to use or pay for on a consistent basis. In fact, I've removed TB altogether for a long while because the extension was slowing my browser down and the usefulness to me decreased. I think they might have fixed the performance issue but I got disenchanted over time. Believe it or not, the best free tool that I absolutely love is the VidIQ Achievement screens. They are extremely motivating for me. TB Milestones seem to always be broken or offline, thus unreliable for me. And YT is constantly getting better with more tools effectively reducing the value of both tools. And yes, the whole thing about Tags is effectively useless nowadays. I focus on my title and description and spend little time on tags.

Joined each platform for a month on “Basic” membership. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I only use TubeBuddy because they have a plan for those of use with under 1000 subscribers. Otherwise they are BOTH way too expensive for the amount of help they offer!

I have both of these as free versions currently and sometimes I've run a key word search and got opposite results from each. Now that's confusing!!

I heard VidIQ has the cooler Discord server.

Thanks for the side by side! I use both and find blending what each offers helps me more than just one.

I think the TB thumbnail analyzer is a little better than a 3. It has really helped me weed out the cream of the crop. I DO wish it provided an explanation of WHY any thumbnail was good or bad.

Not really an accurate comparison as two different people reviewed the tools.

I’ve used the free version of vidIQ for a long time and have never seen a reason to upgrade when considering it. Thank you for validation my decision. :-) I’m just wondering when the most helpful features will be removed from the free version. I’ve never used TubeBuddy though. I should try out their free version to compare their keyword research. Thank you for the detailed comparison and I’m looking forward to the detailed reviews.
