I tried your method, it didn't work, but then I contacted Apple Support Community Guidelines, and I was asked to DELETE PREFERENCES, you can do this by holding Command and Option Key while opening Final Cut, then delete preferences. Worked like magic. (Make sure to hold both keys before trying to open the app). Thanks

ОтветитьPaul, thanks for the effort. Nevertheless, I've discovered another, much easier way. Just put the file(s) on the desktop, then drag and drop it into the timeline.

I brought my computer to a repair shop as I thought it was a corrupted hard drive but actually it was a simple fcpx software fix. The library I was importing to was corrupted. Simply create a new library and upload the videos to that one.
4 years on and this video is still relevant ... thank you Paul.
