Hey SOOOOO MANY THKS TECHOMAN!!!!!! I had my two brand new minidiskplayers stowed away for a long time untill now... hugs man!
ОтветитьI still use sonic stage 4.3 with windows 11 pro with the help of a 3rd party 64bit drivers works just fine for my net md but i primarily use it to convert CDs to Atrack as the sony psp works with sonic stage and atrac files, i like the sound of atrac over mp3s even if it is lossy format but sounds good on my psp.
ОтветитьProgressive Web Apps still require internet. All it's really doing is putting a shortcut on the dock/taskbar. It's not downloading it as a standalone app.
ОтветитьHi master. Just one question - Can I record HI-MD blank minidisc using WEB MINI or PlATINUM MD programms with Sony MZ NH600 player? Thanks for response
ОтветитьDo you have any idea why my portable md doesn't record anymore I dropped it once from the couch and was disappointed because I just got it working again with open mg and then it dropped of the couch it looks like it's recording but the timer is slow and the TOC says blank disc still, btw searching for a home deck with lp
ОтветитьYou're a hero, and the developer of Web MiniDisc Pro. I used Zadig, it downloaded the correct driver for my MZ-N707 and voila! it connected immediately. I am now recording music on my MD unit :-)
Ответить2023, I bought an Sony N505 player. But... I don't know why can't get recognized on Windows 11 even I tried Zadig and nothing. Same.issue at Linux. What can I do?
ОтветитьI have found that some USB devices that don't work on a windows PC work fine if connected via a USB hub, might work with the apples too.
ОтветитьI LOVE the look of that purple LAM1 unit. Japan gets all the fun toys dont they!
Ответитьhi. what about for sony walkman stick NW-S705F MP3 PLAYER ? THANKS. STU
ОтветитьI have a question to any New Zealanders, were Mini Discs popular here? I was born 1973 and all I can remember was records, compact cassettes then CD's. I also had the cassette walkman & the CD walkman followed by MP3 players.
ОтветитьLoving the videos.. I've been trying to find an MDS- NT1 for ages and am still unable to find one.. My set-up would work best with a desktop recorder with all my media on my desktop. Any ideas on how i can get hold of a
ОтветитьOdd question: can a MiniDisc play FLAC files?
ОтветитьI've just been recording some new vinyl to Minidisc but have been getting fed up with the slow, tedious titling on the minidisc recorder, so have just bought an old Sony MZ-N707 from Ebay to be able to do the titling in the PC. Your video has given me the information I need to get it connected and working when it arrives, so thank you!!
ОтветитьSorted Cheers !
Web Minidisc Pro is now working with Hi-MD discs and recorders!
ОтветитьGot my first MD deck and netmd recorder last week, creating discs with the web app works really well. How do you create those small labels for the discs on a printer, my hand writing is horrible 😅
ОтветитьGreat video @Techmoan. What is your opinion on the impact on the quality of the audio in case an MD file (let's assume first generation copied by Atrac R from a cd) goes to the harddrive of a pc using the Web Minidisc software and onwards onto another MD using that software (I assume it must go through Atrac again then)?
ОтветитьI'm using SonicStage 4.3 with my Hi-MD Walkman MZ-RH1 under Windows 7, 10 and Windows 11 without any problems. There are tons of instructions on the net how to do so.
ОтветитьThanks so much for this video, not working for me on a PC but it works whit my mobile phone!
ОтветитьWeb Minidisc Pro has had HIMD features added, may be time for a new vid 😁
ОтветитьIs there any way for me to get my mini discs that have live music recorded on them, into the computer as .wav files without me having to do it real time via optical cable into the computer? Thank you
ОтветитьSonicStage4.3 still conect MZ-RH1 with computers with newer versions of Windows but works only with HiMDs not normal MDs.
ОтветитьTechmoan, miserable and selfish
ОтветитьBrilliant
Ответитьwas that gang starr step in the arena in the cd player?
ОтветитьMatt this is amazing. The ability to transfer from mini disc to pc. I've been waiting since 2004 for this! Also back in the day the only other software alternative to sonicstage was Realplayer! That's a blast from the past!
ОтветитьHi Matt, thanks for a brilliant Video, much appreciated.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know a solution to get access to *.omg files (which were created using SonicStage on a Windows Computer by downloading audio from a MiniDisc)? Usually these are encrypted.
ОтветитьHad SonicStage running fairly well with my N707 on a previous Win10 machine, but have yet to try and get it up and going on my newer laptop. Thanks for the reminder...
ОтветитьAwesome!!! Looking forward to having a play with the NetMD 707 again
ОтветитьWindows media player, to rip and name cds (or CDEX), then sonic stage to transfer. Simplest way.
ОтветитьBrilliant my MZ505 and MzN10 now play through my PC something I thought I would never see again. I need to explore further. Thanks to the people who enabled this to happen.
ОтветитьI have been using Platinum-MD and the Web Minidisc apps for awhile. They both seem to do the job pretty well. I am happy to see that they are still being updated. One thing I noticed that when I switch between the apps I seem to need to run the zadig USB app again to get it working. I am not sure why. I will be interested to try the NetMD wizard which I had not heard of before.
ОтветитьYou could get sonic stage working using a virtual machine, your welcome.
ОтветитьI am using NetMD in windows 11
Ответитьthat CD/MD combo is beautiful
ОтветитьDo any of these new "Net MD" applications remove the "TR Protect" flag on discs that were recorded via Sonic Stage? Thank you for your great channel.
ОтветитьI had the MZ-N1 and you are correct about reliability. It developed a problem where it would automatically eject discs as soon as you load them. It wasn't even used heavily. I bought it because it was the top range and made in Japan. I think it was $350 back when I got it. I very recently have been nostalgic for Minidiscs. If they released NetMD in 1999 it might have been able to save the format. It was just so slowly and/or badly managed. Sony should have forced it on record labels and carmakers and also universities and schools and libraries to make it mainstream.
ОтветитьVery helpful info .......... Big thanks.
ОтветитьSounds like a communication issue with the USB Lanes. I find it really odd that an adapter fixes it. As long as it works right LOL.
ОтветитьMan, I recently got a Net MD NE410 that was in really good condition. The hoops I had to jump through to get the driver installed for it. lol I was able to get some mp3s on it, so a win is a win.
ОтветитьHuge thanks for this. I have so many MD discs ( 100's ! ) that I need to copy to a Win 11 PC, but using Sonic Stage 3.4, it only works with my Hi MD player MZRH-1, playing HI MD tracks. My other NET MD player MZ-N520, playing normal MD tracks will not connect, and fails the S/W, needing a PC "restore" to an earlier time before the SW was loaded, to correctly reboot SS 3.4 ! All my MD's are in SP mode, recorded on several mains recorders over many years, but are not in HI MD. Question: I believe Web Minidisc Pro can transfer these MD atrac files to my PC. That is all I need ! Your video seems to confirm this. Is that right ? Big thanks again. Happy Christmas ! Hope to hear back from you in the new year. ( PM me if needed. )
ОтветитьThanks for this video! Works great with my MZ-N505 on my Mac Studio and Edge Browser. USB is connected to a hub and I can't remember if that has a dongle or not, I have so much stuff connected to this machine. Man where was all of this back in the early 2000s? I would use the Sonic Stage ONLY for titling the disc as I did not trust it to deal with the audio well and I recall it having extreme limitations as well. If I can, I'm gonna rig up a computer and take it back in time and give it to myself in 1993.
ОтветитьThanks so much for this post. I'm sure I will find the suggested software very useful.
ОтветитьPLEASE HELP! Someone should make a comprehensive list of NET MD units that can work in homebrew mode with WEB NET MD program for ripping MD Audio. I tried my Hi MD unit and Homebrew is not even an option. This works as a burner for standard (Non HI MD) disks only. If I Knew exactly which Net MD units can rip normal disks in homebrew mode I would buy one immediately. I don't wanna buy an MZ RH1. Sure. it's amazing, but not £400/600 amazing, especially if the screen is knackered. I am glad that Hi MD recordings can be ripped with my Hi MD unit via sonic stage, but Net MD only received a minor burning upgrade as far as the interface is concerned. It's pretty cool that I can burn Net MD from my Android phone now too, but I want a unit that can RIP normal Mini Disks which is not an RH1. Please HELP!
ОтветитьI loved my old Sony MD I had it about 25 yrs ago and it was way better than CD equivalent of the day.
Ответитьsome mf who knows javascript was like: “it’s up to me to preserve the minidisc format” that’s crazy lmao
