One trick I've learnt when searching a puppet (Not a zombie!) for arrows is to kick them.
Sometimes the puppet is lying on top of the arrow and covering it so you can't see it in your area inventory.
A swift kick or two can show you the hidden arrow.

To get back some more of youre arrows you can kick the dead bodys. when the bodys moved a little you can sometimes your arrows back without chopping all the time. sorry for my bad english.

This game looks soooo good man, the ONLY thing that puts me off playing it thinking it will ruin it is the robots, I may be wrong, but from what I’ve seen they’re just so out of place in this game

try driving past/through the gas stations to aggro the "zom zoms". lead them away and wait for the explosions.

You can just roll the bodies over or kick them over to get your arrows back instead of chopping them up.

if u kick the zombie body u can move it and get it and not chop it and save on time

Kick the zombies when they on the floor (V - They need to be turned over) so you can retrieve your arrows, items in scum are line of sight, they need to be "seen" to be retrieved. You will then be able to retrieve 100% of your arrows. Chopping does not always work if your arrow was out of line of sight before chopping - it disappears. Try it.

Just kick the body to flip it over to get arrows back

You get more arrows back by kicking the body to reveal the arrow under the body

You should hit / kick the puppets around on the ground to reveal the arrows - they usually fall down over the arrows.

You dont have to chop em up, u can punch em until he turns around
