Marei Antoinette was a spoil ruthless queen who doesn't have any empathy for lower classes iam not saying this just by listening and seeing some videos of internet iam a history student i read books regarding events and person she really was a careless queen who only care for her luxury when people were dying out of starvation lots of finance ministers were suggesting to tax all the class including noble and clergy but she rejected it and louis 16 was a foolish and cowardly king marie had a really great influence over him because of that king fired all the finance minister who suggested equal tax for all classes queen knew that people were dynig but she was so busy in her pride and luxury she careless about people life thats why people hated her i don't understand people who glorify her foolish decisions by showing her as innocent and lost child who doesn't have any knowledge regarding people dying when clearly it wasn't the case its sad to see people cheering over a person whose luxury was coming out of poor people's daily bread

What a great job Sofia Coppola did directing this. There’s almost no scripted dialogue or story, but the movie works, and the soundtrack makes it accessible.

I remember seeing this film when it just came out in the cinema theatre and had a dissonance between the time period and the way the actors portrayed the people of that period. I was 15/16 then. Now only over time I really got what Sofia wanted to show and thought it is a brilliant way to connect modern audience with that time, still one should remember that back then children of monarchs and high society were raised completely different, by 16 you were an adult already and thus could rule or start a family.

Kirsten Dunst was perfect for this role .

This film is a shame . An insult to the truth and to the royal couple .

Great movie, though I was a little shocked at the fact she was having an affair, but then I noticed who played Axel and my reaction switched to “oh good grief he’s better looking than the king anyway!” 🥰😂
