When I was in high school I met a girl named Vanessa. She was from Kenya as a foreign exchange student. The world her culture was made is is so entirely different from mine. I personally think coexistence with aliens will be simple , they will allow us to exist and make it clear what we can and cannot do. War would be quite untenable, as the technological difference would be too much. .Imagine Nelson's ships trying to fight a single modern day aircraft carrier and that's only a few hundred years of techological difference!

Another issue with short lived species, I think, is intelligence versus perceived maturity. Say a species only lives for ten years, if they spent 10% of their lives developing to physical maturity they would reach adulthood after only a single year. You would have a physical and cognitive adult with only a year of life experience. You could argue they learn faster than we can to make up for this but then you have a population where the standard IQ is 200, something to rival our greatest geniuses.

The Fermi paradox might be the most pointless statement in human history.
You yourself state that you see the paradox possibly being true because we don't see dyson spheres anywhere in the universe.
I would have to ask you what exactly you think that we can see in the universe?
Do you realize we have no images of planets outside of our solar system?
The truth is that planets are not bright enough to see. Astronomers know that a star has planets because they can see the star but every once in a while it blinks. This would a planet briefly blocking the light of the star from our view. So the deduction is that it was a planet that belongs to said star.
Furthermore. No stars are necessarily close to us. So the light you see is from far in the past. So yes the stars that we can actually see might not show signs of a dyson sphere. But if they just built it in the last 100 years we still won't see the image for possibly 100s of years from now.
Oh and radio signal is another misunderstood one. The civilization that might be able to send a message would have to be pointing that equipment directly at us. This signal once again might take hundreds if not thousands of years to get here. There is no 360 degree sound wave that could be sent with adequate power to get here or anywhere because of the power it would take to do that. To send a radio signal in all directions that has the power to travel for hundreds of years would take asvmuch energy as a star has.
Which is why we can send a signal but we aren't sending it out everywhere. We have tried specific paths to send it towards a point in space that we think could harbor life. A very few locations.
The fact is that our view of the galaxy is absolutely terrible. That is why we haven't seen alien life. Not because its not there. But because we can barely see past our own backyard
