thank you so much for this video! i have many deaf/hard of hearing customers and sometimes feel bad that i can't communicate with them because my asl isnt good. now i learned new sign! :)
ОтветитьMy third grade teacher knew ASL and taught my class the ASL alphabet, and a few songs as well-- ever since then I've always wanted to learn more, but never made time for it. I now work at a library and interacted with a deaf couple recently, and wished I knew more ASL to better communicate with them. It gave me the push to finally make the time to learn. Thanks so much for your awesome videos, they're a tremendous resource!
Ответитьthank you for all you do to help 😊
Ответитьhi hope all is well. is there a different sign for Fall the season and rain/ snow fall❤
ОтветитьI’ve really wanted to learn a few words for work because I have had a few deaf customers and I only know “thank you” and always feel so worried I look ridiculous still speaking hoping they read lips or trying to mime.
Edit: my question was answered !
I have some deaf customers that come in rarely and I communicate with one of them with a little sign mixed with pen and paper.
ОтветитьThanks a lot keep going 👏👏
ОтветитьI had a group of 4 deaf people yesterday and luckily knew a few basic signs... It felt amazing to even be able to help them a little. But I wish I could've done more. Thank you so much for the videos, they're a huge help.
ОтветитьThis helps soooo much. I’m currently learning this because I work at a hotel. And we have a deaf convention 6 times a year. And it not only would make the check in process easier. But I can see the frustration on my guests face when I can’t understand. And I want them to feel just like any other guest
ОтветитьI work at a sandwich shop and today was the first day i had a customer order with sign.. I want to be able to sign back and make him feel included if he ever comes back. I hope he didn't mind me pointing to each ingredient with a thumbs up or down today. Gosh i feel so bad.
Ответитьthe store i work at gets quite a few deaf people come in, and i always feel bad being unable to help
my job is literally to help, but what's the point of my job if i can't help everyone? im learning asl no matter how long it takes me
as the only dhh person at my workplace, teaching my coworkers these is gonna help us all so much in the long run lol
ОтветитьAnother great video! Thanks!
ОтветитьAs a lefty i gotta ask do the hands have to be on a specific side or do i have to mainly soghn with my left hand?
ОтветитьI work in a grocery store And call the different section Isles how would I sign that?
ОтветитьASL sounds like baby language in my head. For example " are you deaf " translate exactly to " You deaf" as far as I can tell. The "are" is not signed but implied.
ОтветитьI found this very helpful. I would love to see one for servers in a restaurant. Like to ask if they need anything. Ask about how things are. Check on if need anything (sauces or soda).
I'm a hostess at a Chick fil a and want to be able to communicate with those guests that are deaf to make sure they feel cared for and get what they need during their visit. I'm in the dining room all the time
You're wonderful, thank you!
ОтветитьBest ASL channel on the Internet. Definitely worth subscribing to if you have not already.
Ответитьi will learn these for my new customer service job! i know this video is old but thank you for this resourse, you are a great teacher 😊
Ответитьim totally gonna learn this!
ОтветитьWatching this bc I work at a grocery store and a couple who is deaf comes in and I wanna be able to communicate with them
ОтветитьI’m aware of someone who comes in the grocery about once a week with a woman, sometimes on his own. I noticed he used ASL with the woman. Now every time I see him walk by when he comes, I make sure to sign hello and ask how he is doing.
ОтветитьThank you ❤
Ответитьthank you for much
ОтветитьI work at a party store, but even parts of this are tremendously helpful. I’m gonna teach some coworkers a few basic things.
ОтветитьApril 15 coming up I hope I can help with ordering lol
ОтветитьThank you so much. I'm totally teaching my coworkers this!
ОтветитьI work at chipotle and we have a couple deaf customers that come in, theyre all some of the sweetest, nicest customers we get and i would love to be able to have even just a small conversation with them
ОтветитьGreat video easy to understand. I appreciate you turning sideways to show the sign. I work in customer service and I care very much for people, when I get a chance to provide service using signs makes me very happy to see the response of someone that never gets a thank you at stores that don't have employees that know signs. 🙂
ОтветитьThank you for sharing
ОтветитьThank you SO MUCH for making this video!! <3 My husband and I are about to open up our first cafe together and want to be prepared to make everyone feel welcome!
ОтветитьThank you very much I'm a security in a Walmart store and there's this customer that I was used to say Hi but I learned She will never smile say Hi It's why I found out she's deaf couldn't speak So I tried to learn a little bit so I can communicate with her every morning Thank you very much for your videos
ОтветитьI had a customer come to our store who was deaf. She pointed what she wanted and I tried so sign thank you. This video with definitely help me for the moment.❤
ОтветитьThank you for this video. I’ve been learning some loose asl and had a deaf couple come into my restaurant yesterday. I got to do their whole order but i wanna know more incase they come again :)
Ответитьthank you, i have a couple of deaf regulars at the store i work at, and i honestly never thought to learn sign before meeting them, but i feel like everyone deserves a good way to communicate without needing to take the time to write everything down
ОтветитьGot a person who I believe is deaf in my section and I’m a waiter and been tryna find how to say have a good day before he leave s
ОтветитьMost helpful video I’ve ever seen on some basic ASL in retail ❤
Ответитьthis was really helpful as a cashier
ОтветитьThank you so much. I have a few deaf customers and I hate that I can’t sign even the basic things. So now I can practice with your video. This is so perfect thank you.
ОтветитьI'm so glad I came across your videos. Not only do I have a dear friend that signs but I'm wanting to learn just in case I get a patient that can only sign. I work healthcare so this will come in handy. I love the pace of the videos and the side view! They are both super helpful. Thank you so much for doing this. <3
ОтветитьThank you so much for this! I'm 16 and I work in retail and today I got two customers that were deaf. I couldn't communicate to them as much as I could to a hearing customer, but with a bit of trouble I was able to help them. I found this video because I want to be able to communicate to deaf customers just as I would hearing customers. This video really helps out! :)
ОтветитьI'm a server at a senior home and our newest elder is deaf since his friend told me "Welp, you better learn sign language." while laughing since his friend is deaf and I was like "Oh, ok" as we laughed but still I wanna try my best
ОтветитьI really want to learn asl because my best friend died 2 years ago. She left a son who is deaf and I really want to communicate well because i dont want to depend on cellphone texting. I hope i may be able to learn how to read back sign
ОтветитьThank you! That was very helpful 😊 I think I can learn asl quite well, but my problem is im slow to read the answer, and get lost most of the time 😅 God bless you 🙏❤️
ОтветитьI appreciate the eyebrows too cause I heard facial expressions means so much as well. I just just hope I remember all this when the customer I’m learning for comes in. wish me luck.
ОтветитьIm planning on fully learning ASL, but I am cashiering right now and today alone I got two deaf people buying food and I felt so bad that I have yet to learm the language. I wish it was taught in schools along with spoken english. I wish the world was more inclusive
ОтветитьI think it should at least be an option in school like Spanish or French. I'm in my 60's and I've always wanted to learn to sign. Now, thanks to all the wonderful internet videos I doing it! Thank you so much for being our teacher.
ОтветитьI have a deaf customer who comes into our coffee shop regularly, watching this so I can hopefully help him out more !
Ответитьbut I thought deaf was from lip area to ear ...not the other way around 😮
