Ghidorah could be in her visions because destroy all monsters takes place in 1999 and I'll assume Godzilla vs mecha godzilla takes place in the year it released 1974

The Garuga are ape-like aliens that were going to sell earth on the galactic market? Hmmm damn that sounds awfully familiar.... side-eyes Akira Toriyama who hides the saiyans behind his back lol

ok so I think I get why the aliens disguise MechaGodzilla if Godzilla never appeared to attack the fake Godzilla, Fake Godzilla would head off to Tokyo and after fake boi attacks and heads to the water the humans would think of a way to get rid of the Big G, then days later the real Godzilla will appear, and the humans went all out attack on the big g then gets defeated or weekend
then fake boi will appear and destroy everything that gets in his way, then King Ceasar awakened and attack the fake goji then mech Godzilla will appear then the real Godzilla will appear and help King Ceasar with MG. So i think that's the plan there instead of 2 rounds there will be 3 and that's my thought of the Fake Godzilla plan. :>

I love everything about this film even though it's not my favorite (I don't like any of the Heisei era or Millennial era Godzilla films ...I'm strictly a Showa & Legendary era fan only other than Godzilla 1984 & Godzilla 2000 but that's literally it!!! I think the 80's , 90's & 00's Godzilla films are more fake & corny than the 50's , 60's & 70's mainly because by the time I watched those later films was as a adult & it was like watching a wannabe Shows era man in the suit type Godzilla films but without the iconic originality & characters & music & monsters , i really want that King Ceaser statue that they keep stealing from eachother in this film , it would look awesome on my mantle

The reason why Nami sang the whole song in the movie was because the actress, Bellbella Lin, was actualy a singer. During 70s, Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng caused a phenomenon in Japan, so TOHO signed Bellbella Lin, wishing she would be as famous as Teresa.

I would argue this might be Jun Fukuda’s best Godzilla film. Certainly my favorite. I know he didn’t hold his time in the Godzilla franchise in much high regard, but the film looks and feels like he had a lot of fun with it.

I always loved the English dub in this film too, especially for the Simian leader. The voice actor they chose to dub him really did a great job retaining the arrogant attitude of the character

Sucks the finale Heisi movie terror of mecha Godzilla flopped hard in japan. Yet it was the last Godzilla movie to get to get a dvd release on a single dvd that contained both the American and Japanese cuts on with a commentary track only got the American cut. Only the double feature of the original gorjirs released with the American cut had the two cuts on two seperate dvd with a commentary for both of them . I guess the two dubbs of terror of metal Godzilla eventually gain enough respect for the two cuts of film to be approved of getting pshyical release.

Oh yes, this is my jam! My earliest memories of Godzilla were with this movie, and '85 but I try not to think about that. For decades all I had for this movie was just before all the explosions that reveal fake Godzilla. I still remember the video would come in with a guy running up and down a dark street like he was looking for someone, then cut to another guy watching him while he smokes, then cut to the crazy explosions. Because this was my main movie for Godzilla it was why I always viewed him as a hero monster and not the atomic metaphor he was supposed to be. And help me out here, until the internet came along, I always thought Ceasar's name was "King Seasog" because of how I heard everyone pronouncing it. But this really did have some great monster fights. As for the "chicken wing" move Godzilla does when walking, as a little kid I thought it made him look tough, probably what they had in mind when he did it.

When I was a kid and used to watch this movie all the time, I always thought that the mountain that king Ceasars is sleeping in during the awakening song looks just like godzillas head, with King Ceasar being placed as his eyeball. I always used to think that was deliberate, signifying that when he was summoned, it would be to fight alongside godzilla. Would love to know if that was intentional or just a coincidence.

I love this movie. I have very happy memories staying up very late (like, the sun was up when I was done) when I was 12 to watch it on Sci-Fi.
I do find the use of Ghidorah puzzling. They could've used old Godzilla footage as well as footage of the disguised Mechagodzilla.

Can’t way for you to do Terror of Mechagodzilla so you can finish the original 28 Godzilla movies, and G98. Wondering if you’ll do the Monsterverse and Reiwa Eras. But you deserve a break.
How about a ranking of the movies after the terror video?

It is hard for me to say I like the showa era of Godzilla, outside of the original 1954 film I just don't re-watch these older movies
But Mechagodzilla in this I have to admit is very cool, and despite it feeling super 70s actually has a very timeless design and feel.
It's not my favourite I think Kiryu is the most fleshed out and well rounded, with Legendary's being the most Epic and entertaining.
I think the biggest reason I can't get too into these films is how they made Godzilla's dorsal spines, face and just body way too silly and child like
They're so dull and derpy looking by terror of mechagodzilla, I get that suit design and ease of use is a never ending battle but it got way too obvious someone was in a suit and it's just hard to take godzilla seriously
Jun Fukuda and Teruyoshi Nakano were vital in keeping the Godzilla series running, many of the showa films are campy but without them we wouldn't have godzilla as he is today. They may not have been the exciting new direction Tomoyuki Tanaka wanted but at least Godzilla after 1975 could rest for a while.
Nakano and Fukuda did the best with what they had and for that I have to commend them it's not anyone who could persevere the way they did
Rest in Peace Teruyoshi he was instrumental in heralding what has to be my favourite part of the Godzilla series; Heisei
That quote about Godzilla by Jun Fukuda is very inspiring and despite hating everything he did still showed Godzilla reverence "He is an emotion" is the best way to put it.
