I believe you have to also make another change in gmail. Go to your settings -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP. Then enable IMAP and Save. Then it should work.

Hello, I have an unrelated question that should be so simple but I can't get it to work. I have an EA that draws a line at my entry that works fine, but I'd like to make an indicator. I did this really simple code (draw a line on the chart when the hour is 6) but it is not working. Could you quickly point me in the right direction. Thank you

🤔 Hi Jim : The most important line I’d like to see is “close trade line “ regardless of where the current price is ,.. you know how stupidly MT4 Platform won’t let you set up a “take profit line “ that is located bellow the current price line ( in an uptrend) , they only let you set up a take profit line only above the current price , but what I want to ba able to do is to have 2 take profit lines, one above the current price which MT4 provides for me , and another one that I want you to provide that is bellow the current price and above the entry price .. Does it make sense to you ? Do you see the bad need for it ? And why there is no third party App that made it available?

After following your instructions, my emails are working perfectly on desktop but mt4 can't connect to the smtp while trying to send from a vpn. Is there a way to get around that?

For those of you struggling to get emails working on a VPS, I have managed to get them working on my VPS provider running Windows Server 2012. If you follow Jim's guide and subsequently change the firewall settings on the VPS the emails will work. To set this up follow these instructions. 1. Open the Server Manager by clicking the Windows Button and then clicking on the Server Manager Icon. Now in Server Manager on the top right of the window click the Tools Menu item and select Windows Firewall with Advanced Security from the drop-down menu. In the window that pops up click the "Outbound Rules" from the left window and then click "New Rule" from the right window. In the new pop-up select the "Port" Radio button and click Next. Now in the "Specific remote Ports" text box enter 465,587 and click next, now select the "Allow the connection" radio button and click next and next again and then give it a name and click finish and that should be it.

Is there a way or script to add to a chart to allow any pop up alerts from that chart to send me an email using your email set up that you just showed us. Thanks so much.

Hi Jim, thanks for this, have been trying for few years now to get emails to work with no success, but presto, this works. Mine were going to spam folder at first but obviously resolved that. Cheers, will check out some of your other stuff

Jim...Less secure apps not working on Google, they have removed the on/off button. Google have screwed us over

Hope your still monitoring these, because this video inspired me to pull out some logic from my EA and make it a separate indicator. Anyway, I started out small with 2 MAs in an indicator, and dropped it on the chart as you do in your video, and all was cool! So, I wrote a quick EA and called it using iCustom, and used Comment to display the values. They changed with each bar, and I was pleased, but the MA lines don't draw on the chart until I stop it, and then they pop up. Why wouldn't they display while it's running? Thanks in advance.

Can you update this video please? The "Less secure app access" is no longer available as of May 30, 2022. So an alternate workaround is necessary.. Please and thank you. 🙏❤

Hello, since google had decided to disable the less secure apps option, theres no way the SMTP would work, how can i fix this?

Can I use my regular gmail account for this? or I must create a new gmail. I am not sure why this isnt working for me.

This no longer works. Google removed this feature from new account creation.

My problem is sending email alerts fromI MT4 to gmail.
I have an MT4 which sends perfectly alerts to gmail.
When i install another MT4 in the same VPS, same account, same server, same login this second MT4 refuses to send alerts.
What to do?

Jim...I'm sure you're aware that Google no longer has that "Less Secure App Access" section in their security area. Have you come up with a solution to that? Thanks in advance.
