thats beautiful!
ОтветитьReally liked how you put the sprue on the inside, very neat. Thank you
Patsy
Is it possible to add the top sand/clay with the black rod already in place with a bit of wax to stick it to the shell or something, that way you dont have to push a hole through and risk ruining the casting🤔
Ответитьwhere did you get your tools? The main ones i'm interested in are the long handled pin and the long black rod you have.
ОтветитьTank very much, for video ❤😊
ОтветитьNice job, I need to start practicing. I wanna do a sharks tooth that I found in gold and make it into a necklace.
ОтветитьThankyou can't wait to have a go❤
ОтветитьNice toturial!
just wondering so much is horizontal layout flux or cutout flux which need to hold is easier to use for sand casting?
I LOVE your videos! Question.....you used a file on the shell. Doesn't that leave marks or does the polishing machine take care of them??
ОтветитьThe problem is that gold needs more than 1000 Celsius to melt. This requires a very special gas burner. Most crucibles cool the gold too quickly, causing the gold to harden before it fills the mold. So it's not that easy to get the right equipment and especially that is not cheap.
ОтветитьYou made it look so easy, thank you 😊
ОтветитьI'm about to get into sand casting. I've done spin casting but I'm at the point where sand casting is so much more appealing. I love the fact that you can set up a cast so quickly and move on to something else. Thank you for the video!
ОтветитьHi lovely simple concise video; thanks. How about listing the tools you use?
ОтветитьI loved the finished shell.
here is an idea to make the thin wall a bit thicker ,
what about using a few layers of cling film, as cling film is about 0.07 -0.10 thick so you hardly lose any texture/shape/depression and so you can also pull the shell out more easily
so with using one or 2 layers of cling film for the outside lay it across the clay/sand and press the shell on top of the film and 2 plus layers for the inside you can gain nearly 1/4 mm thickness
Either that or fill the inside with some sort of soft glue like UHU and line the inside to make it thicker, and if the glue needs to be removed from a reusable item then it can be pulled out.
UHU is great for making small little molds to :)
thank you for this video. I have been looking for a beginners sand casting tutorial and this is perfect!...i also have a tiny sea urchin i'd like to cast and hope to be able to with your helpful video!
ОтветитьNice..let’s go give it a whirl, see if I can sell some in Cornwall...
ОтветитьI love this one! Thinking about casting thin objects, could you do a video on casting coin pendants like a St.Christophers?
