DC Versus Marvel Omnibus | Superman vs The Amazing Spider Man | X-Men and the New Teen Titans

I used to have both the DC and Marvel John Byrne posters that I bought at my lcs when they came out in the 90s. Love that they used those combined as the cover! Wish I still had those posters but glad to now have them on this omnibus. My only disappointment about this omnibus is that it doesn't have the JLA Avengers crossover by Busiek and Perez, which I wasn't able to get the collected edition of as it sold out immediately. I do have the single issues though in a long box somewhere. I also used to have the first printing of Superman vs Spider-Man Treasury Edition that I bought when it came out as a kid. Glad to finally have it again! I never had the other 70s crossovers but I did get all the 90s stuff which I still have in single issues. Great overview, my friend!

Thanks for the review, Omar, always great to hear your voice. When I was a kid I read the heck out of my tabloid sized copy of Superman And Spider-Man, can't wait to read that again. I'm probably not going to get the Amalgam omnibus so I think I'll get the George Perez cover, if I were getting both I'd try to get the Jim Lee covers. Much love to you and your family right now. I have cut back on buying omnis recently, but I did make this a "must have" purchase. Ended up going with the classic Perez cover. I know OF several of the crossovers, but haven't read much in the book... so this will be a fun journey.

Still have many of the stories in their original releases. Was hoping for more insight on which crossovers didn't make it here, the reasons why, if they're enough to fill up another volume, how likely were such to happen, etc.

I personally thought this omnibus would sell out extremely quickly but nope. Every comic book shop here in Toronto has them for purchase.

I did my video last night and released it today thinking I’d beat Omar to the punch because I went so in depth. All the other overviews have been short! And then u release ur video today also… I went uggghhh!!!! Lol.

This cover is so BAD. No battle presented there is inside!
And still not all extras like some covers to Wizard promotong those stories like Punisher/Batman or Batman/DD or some later marvel magazine I don't remember name now.
And WHY reprint Marvel/Wildstorm cover that has nothing to do with this collection!!!! Those were crossovers with IMAGE COMICS !!!!!!

Spine design's not my cup of tea. But im still getting this one of course 😂

One more thing. I hope they reprint the Marvel/Wildstorm crossovers as well. That's also something Marvel and DC would have to do together. With the new Wildc.a.t.s and Stormwatch Compendia and these omnibi, there may be hope.

I ordered a copy of the DC versus Marvel Omnibus (George Perez cover) two days back from Amazon Canada which arrived today. Sadly the dustjacket was off position and was about a centimetre down getting crushed inside the shrinkwrap which was not Amazon's fault. I thought about returning it back for a replacement copy but decided to keep it and told Amazon to just give me back a partial refund to make up the unexpected damage that came to the dustjacket which they did giving me a 15% refund plus getting the book off at 38% off during the order so now I got the book at 53% in total.

Hopefully you always put these reviews out, even if delayed (again, sorry for your loss) as I'm sure I'm not the only one who will seek out reviews later down the line to help with making a decision if we're on the fence as to picking the title up later than launch or seeking a reference for where to place it on a shelf, etc.

Awesome review as always, happy to have managed to grab the Jim Lee version, although its rhe spine art that I love the most.

And now Secondly this is cool dc and marvel decided too this I really hope this book does wel and marvel plus dc are actually paying attention and decided to actually give us a crossover in a movie I know marvel isn't doing the best right now hopefully they can together before the new avengers movie and we getting a new dc universe lead by James gun who directed the guardians of the galaxy trilogy after warner bros first treble take on the dcu although probably won't be live action with the dcu finally starting to lifting off ground hopefully for the better I hope we get something to come out of this maybe like an animated film or game might be problem due to powers that that is disney and warner bros but I know people at dc and marvel definitely want this to happen at some point especially james gun since he had work with marvel before and Kevin feige wanting it cause their a fan of both Kevin feige even went to dc to Congratulate James so I really hope something comes out of this

My favorite stories of the Marvel DC crossover are the Superman Fantastic Four, Teen Titans vs X-Men and Hulk vs Superman. Those three just registered well with me.

The omnibus looks awesome

I'm definitely going to get that since I'm the fan of both. Coincidentally, Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection is coming soon and next year, DC is teaming up with SEGA's most beloved game, Sonic the Hedgehog.

I think my copy of this actually uses glued binding. Maybe I'll share some pics later

This book does not include the avengers versus Justice league?

I remember when that X-Men/Teen Titans came out. Before I had a drivers license. I needed to take the Bus and two different Trains to get to Central Square in Cambridge Ma. "Superhero Universe" was the name of the store. and this book was notoriously late. week after week for like six months. and then to find out it wasn't treasury edition size was a let down although the Walter Simonson art and story made it worth the wait.

Marvel's answer to the Joker is the Green Goblin, if you ask me

Batman/ Spider-man and Batman/ Capt. America were my favorites of the time.

Man, the first couple pages through me. Where the artists, writers, etc. are listed, I thought the pages were misprinted with it only showing half of the covers. Looked like I had off-centered pages. LOL.
