Great video! For sure if you want pure performance and overall quality, the s550 is the way to go. But if you want the "Raw" experience of the Gen1 Mustangs without it's hick'ups and period flaws, I think that the s197 05-09 Gen5 is not a bad canvas to start with. They are "affortable" to modify to retro it the way you want, if you control yourself and follow a plan of course. The're reliable, I know it's not as powerful as the 5.0 is, but the 3V is not to shabby with the right mods and can surprise some Coyote Owners and it's enjoyable to drive also.

s197 best modern mustang style

i think the newer mustangs are exactly what they should be in terms of interior design and engineering, but I dont like the way they look. they look nice just not like a mustang. my favorite car of all time is the 67 gt500 but if i was going to buy a mustang i would aim for a 2005-2009 model. they have the looks and modern convinces I like.

Going from a 2004 GT, I wanted something more modern.
Now that I have a 2015 RS2, now I just want something I can fuck up and have TONS of fun without worrying about the damn miles and wear/tear.
Pro tip: Dont sell your old one just because you think you wont enjoy it, you'll miss it.

Whichever is your first one will probably be your favorite. I love my S197 2014 GT. It's a manual, and the car I learned to drive a manual in. You fall in love with the things most people don't know, and for me that was the engine, the ruggedness, and the feeling of muscle instead of sport.

You wouldn't see so many murder Mustangs if total idiots were not driving them. Drive like a sane person, any one of the Mustangs are safe on the street.

94/95 Mustang GTs are my fave. Used to drool when I saw them what I was in highschool. Then the 99 models showed up, and a guy across the road from the school had one and I was in love. Still have a soft spot for the mid 90s ones though.

Mustangs are so cool. My favorite look is the 10-12 front with a 13-14 rear, followed closely by the 15-17, then the 67-68 as the best classic, and SN95 and New Edge tie for 3rd with the Fox body as a VERY close 4th. 3rd and 4th place also kinda depend on mods, though. Some Fox builds I like more than a New Edge.

Mustang is such an american brand i love it, it screams pride for me, ive always wanted one because im native american, and a horse is reliable dont get me wrong, but 300 horses in 1 horse would be insane. Crazy horse levels.

I used to like new edges and s197s but i settled for a sn95 and after owning i prefer the smooth sleek lines so much more than the other chunkier body styles, also the weight savings are nice over the s197

i drove an v6 s550 auto and it was simply not very engaging at all. it would've been better with a manual i figure but it just felt boaty. i now own an 09 s197 v6 auto and it feels so much tighter and more fun even as an auto, i am impressed by it daily even if my previous car even had more hp than it. as rcr put it, the s197 has to be the most mustang to have ever mustanged, and so it will remain my favorite one

I had a 2008 Bullitt and like an idiot, Sold It. Could not live without an S197 so bought a 2010 in SUPER condition and simply love the reliability of the 4.6.

I've loved mustangs since a was a kid and keep trying to figure out what mustang I want to buy since I was 10 and obviously broke and eventfully figured I didn't want one anymore until I recently bought my first mustang (08) and first manual transmission after getting bored of automatics. Now I'm hooked again and want more 'stang!
