This is exactly what I needed today! Listening while I'm cleaning up my house and literally switched gears and started this process and am already seeing a big difference in progress! Thank you!! ❤
ОтветитьDana White is my all time hero! She just gets it 😄
ОтветитьI feel so identified with you Mel. It is so hard to declutter 💔
ОтветитьOmg Mel! I think exactly like this. 😳🙄
ОтветитьI really liked seeing Dana White, as I have watched some of her other decluttering videos. What I have a hard time with is Mel's potty mouth.
ОтветитьOne of my other friends had the idea of putting things in bags and opening and taking care of one bag at a time; this seems to be especially helpful in bereavement for clearing as I've found.
ОтветитьNeeded this today
Ответитьlol extra clothes for people who visit- just did that yesterday with a coat.
Ответитьhe may have spilled on it or it smells. I went same with sone id pick through what he going to throw out... and he quit frustrated...
Ответитьmaybe set thinks called trash. anxiety about being poor or needing something you threw . or yeah decisions anxiety.
Ответитьright now i hate moving things and never know where things are. but all junked around.. see it or hide behind drawers.
ОтветитьOMG!!!! My two favorite people!!! So glad you had Dana on!!!!
ОтветитьIMHO, I don't think Mel even needed to ask herself those questions about the stuff her son had already decluttered on his own. He's done the work. All she needed to do was take it to the donation center for him. She invalidates his choice to be rid of his own clutter by sifting through the bags he already sorted through and pulling things out she wanted to hang on to.
ОтветитьLoved this interview and the fact based process! I added Mel’s “54321” strategy to the “take it there now” phase of decluttering.
ОтветитьWho is Decluttering Expert Mel is talking to please?
ОтветитьBut for me the value question already comes at the donate stage .. so I’m already stumped here??!!
ОтветитьSuch helpful steps to decluttering. Thank you bith.Mel, please find replacement word for f bombs.
ОтветитьThank you for bringing this amazing and relatable expert on your podcast
ОтветитьThank you for this decluttering video Mel this is very helpful to me step by step decluttering my house and garage
High 5 Mel🖐😷👍✝️
Thank you this was awesome information like you it blew me away
🖐😷👍✝️🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Gracias!!!
ОтветитьNice language. I was watching this with my kids in the room.
ОтветитьThis is so good.
ОтветитьYeah. My husband thought I'm crazy 😂.
ОтветитьMaybe I'm just daydreaming, but what if the problem becomes that there is not decluttering to do when I have the drive to work. It reminds me of the problem of knowing when to stop painting a painting. At that time pointless rearranging might occur. Could the intimidation of a blank canvas be experienced since decluttering is like removing paint from a painting? Just saying. It's a nice problem to have.
ОтветитьAnother method I found was from a 1950s Housekeeping magazine. You grab a large clothes basket and start in the entryway of your home, and gather anything that doesn't belong (including trash) into the basket. Then you move to the next room and repeat, but also take anything from the previous room(s) that belongs in your current room out of the basket and put it away. Once you get to the last room of your house, head back towards the entryway unloading anything that remains.
ОтветитьI haven’t even finished watching and I’m already filled with hope ( had chores to do). I’m 78, live by myself and never have visitors because I’m ashamed of my clutter. I’d just decide (at my age) I’m simply a slob!!! Yay‼️I’m filled with renewed hope. Thank you ❤️😁🌹
ОтветитьI love the part where she says "I have steps!!!" This set me free. Thank you one and all.
ОтветитьI love the idea of asking where would you put it?
Because sometimes when I look where it’s “supposed” to be and it’s there I’m shocked and I usually don’t look there first 😂😂😂
Omg! This is greatness! I was able today to decluttef gor 2.5 hours and i cant wIt yo do lore tomorrow! These tips will work and dud work today! Im super excited!!! I realize now my mistakes and these techniques will work for my brain!
ОтветитьOMG, it's the first decluttering system that makes sense for me! ❤
ОтветитьLate to this party! Thank you ✅
ОтветитьI love watching two people I love talk to each other.
ОтветитьHow u damn start if ue brain is frozen
ОтветитьThis is amazing 😍 I already feel motivated to declutter❣️❣️❣️ Actually cluttering was a problem for me since I was a child, but today I was not only learning that it is connected to my Trauma in another Video, I finally have a concept which does not feel like it would Stress me out❣️😭🐥💕
Thank you so much❣️(((🐥)))💕
Looove this discussion. Thanks a lot. ❤
ОтветитьStop using 4 letter words. It adds nothing and is juvenile. Declutter your speech
ОтветитьPeople are different so are organizing styles…visual people need things to be visual and easy to grab things…
ОтветитьWho is your Guest speaker expert????? She is brilliant! Thank you for bringing her on your podcast Mel Robbins!!! 🤩
Ответить❤
ОтветитьLove Mel Robbins. Have always liked Dana. So I watched this, and Mel's use of the F word was very off-putting. Makes me never ever want to say the F word again in my life. Cringe
Ответитьi think there is different cluttering! There is the cluttering of people that do not like to pick up after themselves- , they just throw it where ever...
Then we have the ones that don't care about the smell or the mess in their clutter - which is basically a dirty and messy house (they feel better calling clutter rather than a pigsty), ok! Then there are the clean houses - but don't you open that closet!!! It has a million boxes with things that have not been used in a thousand years!
Watched this multiple times. Something more sinks in my mind everytime♥️♥️love these two
ОтветитьWouldn't it be amazing to calculate the amount of hours spent on making piles to deal with later. I used to move piles to place to place to place and laugh at myself and say, "I'm not and organized person, I'm a stuff mover."
ОтветитьOhhhh my god i cannot tell you how helpful this episode has been for me! I have major ADHD, and clutter ( and legitimately big messes ) have always been a part of my life. Something i've felt huge amounts of shame over. I would always get so angry at myself that after putting so much effort into my room it was a mess again the next day. And i thought i couldn't function like other people do. This information and these rules have helped me more than all the therapy combined.. ❤ It's not perfect, and it still gets messy, but whenever i feel overwhelmed i put this episode on an do another 5 minute pickup, and every single time my room is better than before! and the mess is usually contained ( haha container ) to a level that i didn't use to be able to keep. THANK YOU! I would love to hear more from this nice lady 😄 ❤ and thank you mel!!!
ОтветитьI must be blessed I’ve always been tidy and I keep only what I need. My mom kept EVERYTHING I MEAN EVERYTHING. I THANK GOD I DID NOT GET THAT GENE 😍Lynn
ОтветитьIt was going great…. until they got to the jackets 🫠
