You skipped so many steps it was not helpful. If I knew how to use the software enough to follow what you did, I would be advanced enough to skip the video

So I don't know much about DHCP yeah but isn't the nice thing about it that it allocates IP adresses automatically? So why the heck do you allocate the IP adress manually in your video. I am just so confused right now

Do you need a platform in order to support this server? Or a raspberry?

I installed the DHCP server but now how do I make my devices use this server instead of the DHCP server in my router?

Dear Sir,

Could you tell me for what purpose you are using DNSMASQ. is it not possible without DNSMASQ?

Whatever Changes you are doing in DNSMASQ's Config File ... that all can be done in DHCP Config file?

What is Function of DNSMASQ Package?  What it does?

Thank you in In-advance..

Basavaraj, From India.

Why is there no .bat file or self installing program. Kind of ironic the hype on security but lack of logic and simple use for everyone.

quick question , i noticed that in your windows 7 vmware ipconfig, i saw that the dhcp server is pointed to your linux host ip address, how do you assign the ip addresss of the dhcp server (linux host) to the windows vmware?

what do i do when it does this? $ sudo service dnsmasq restart
Job for dnsmasq.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status dnsmasq.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

I have set up notrack on a raspberry pi, and it's working great, thanks a lot quids!

here are a few questions though:

is the second part of the video where you explain how to set static ip addresses for your different machines optional or is that required? why would I want static ip addresses for my machines anyway? also, do I need to change any settings on my router?

does this make adding the raspberry pi as my DNS server redundant?

sorry for the stupid questions, but I just don't want to be tracked, I don't really understand what all of this is doing...

Hi, sorry, this might sound silly but I wonder if the dhcp-range of raspberry, should it be on the same subnet that my isp router is on. Say my ISP ee router is 192.168.1.1 and I want to configure raspberry pi as secondary router giving out dhcp addresses to my computers and blocking ads, do I write dhcp-range=192.168.1.100,192.168.62.254 or do I assign different range of ip addresses to my raspberry router like 192.168.50.100?
