The only thing that doesn't make sense is how he got the call from Dave when he was at jeans house in the first place I mean if he was in the fog first then I'd understand but he wasn't so there's a little mistake in the story

Reading the comments i got a week theory of what happened.

Maybe that trucker and the chick were actually fakes, but they want to be killed. Because the fakes are kinda linked to the person they are imitating. So when he drove over the fake, she got transported there and died.

This make more sense to me than this guys mental illnes.

As someone who has driven in incredible dense fog, sometime you cant see more than 5 feet in front of you and you should avoid that regardless of supernatural fog

A lot of people have pointed out the plot holes, and they’re not wrong. I like to think of it as part of the manipulation of the fog though. “It distorts things…” In a dreamlike state we don’t question when things are obviously wrong, it just feels natural

My town only has one rule too. Never go in the lake, supposedly some indians cursed it. Also i guess its nof technically a rule but beastiality is frowned upon.

Okay, so how did Jean make it to the protag without a car if she was the real one? If she wasn't real, then the fog's power makes the story make sense, but legitimately, how did she make it to him on foot if he drove several miles into the freeway. And if she knew that the fog was crazy what did she think her being out there would help? She coulda just told him not to trust anything. This story makes me upset =_=

Alright i feel like after reading some other comments on how other people see how some of this stuff in the story could have potentially happened it makes sense but i got one big beef with it and thats how it starts the protagonist i assume never actually gets in the fog until after the first call from his roomate but if that first call wasnt actually real what made him perseive the call i feel like he should have never recieved that call if he had never been properly in the fog before getting that call it doesnt make sense unless before getting to jeanes home they some how where in the fog just enough for him to halucinate some of the stuff but otherwise i jist dont see how that works

So i have two questions how did she get to him so quickly i assume he drove abt 20-30 mins and she showed up in like 10-15 and on top of that she must have done it on foot bc how else would she have been able to drive his car or she wouldve had to worry abt driving her own car? Thats why i didnt see the twist of it being the real friend coming

Its a good story, but the ending felt forced, and there were a few weird things that pulled me out of it because it made no sense, and not in the way i think the author intended, unless were going to say any plot hole can be waived away as "pArAnOrMaL". Still, i enjoyed it and i hope they continue writing.

I really wanted to like this story, but the egregiously excessive use of dialogue tags just kept ripping me out of the story. It was especially annoying when Owen was the only person present. Anything that's said is OBVIOUSLY him, so we don't need, "I said," added in! And when there's only two people present, it's abundantly clear who's talking as there's a natural volleying! To have every person's sentences tagged almost every time someone speaks is just dustracting and annoying.

I highly doubt the authors write this way because any halfway decent writer knows not to overuse them, so I have to conclude that Lighthouse does this. Please stop!
