The people at the top are always so clueless because of how privileged their upgringing and life in general is - why is a guy who never played any sport in any form commenting on a professional athlete, and his conditioning/weight, especially when the player is INJURED, and there's not a single dude that's played amateur/semi-pro/pro that isn't aware how these things work - you have a certain diet for an athlete, which consists of WAY more calories then your average diet, because you turn most of that into energy and so on. You suddenly lose the ability to turn that excess calories into energy etc., but your body is trained, as well as your mind, to keep the calorie input at the same level - this way when you get healthy, you don't need to force yourself to add to your diet all over yet again, and once you're healthy and doing the same things you were - your body weight shifts and goes back to the original weight, for athletes usually over a month or two.

I'm actually amazed how the basic common sense principles are rarely used these days, and how clueless people are on how life works - they all look at it like it's a video game or movie/show - oh, he's injured, in 2k that means when he comes back he'll play the same as he did before and be the same weight etc, so tons of people just assume these things without spending a minute actually processing it and understanding what an injury even is, and how it affects EVERYTHING in a persons life.
