ОтветитьSir can you please tell that in bit map which bit is used for free block and which bit is used for allocate blocks , please sir this makes very much confusion because on some website it shows that 1 for free and some shows 0 for free and our msbte books shows the 0 for free so can you please help with this or we can write any bit but we have to mention it ??🙏

ОтветитьDear sir, is it true there must be external fragmentation if there exist internal fragmentation? In internal fragmentation the block of partition is already used but there left some portion. So that is not available for another process. In external fragmentation we know there is available partition but we cannot use it because of non contiguous memory location ....can we consider used portion by a process before in external fragmentation? Or only available partition?

Hello can anyone clear one of my doubt . like if there is a block of 8MB and a process P1 of size 2MB is assigned to that block then logically 6MB is wasted . now if any process less than 6MB arrives is it possible to put the process in the same block ? This is not even violating the contiguous principle . so is there anything like one block can be assigned one process only?
