The symbol isn't positive or negative, it's recursive. A natural expression of recursion is evidenced in fractals. I.e. the branch of a pine is a pine, and the branch of that pine is a pine... so it goes recursively.

I used to see it as a beautiful symbol of rebirth. Now all I see is the USA - we have food that makes us unhealthy which leads to medicines that supposedly help which leads us to the diet industry which leads us to the all natural industry only to find out that the fruits & vegetables are genetically engineered to “look bigger & nicer” for the public & to have a longer shelf life so even if I try to eat a non dairy (because of the hormones), vegan (so I don’t hurt animals, but also bc of the hormones injected into the animals and the other things injected into the meat to make it look nice & stay redder longer) diet I will still be unhealthy bc of everything I said above. So I go back to my doctor when something else happens. Our government (FDA) & Big Food has created a problem for multiple industries to “fix” only to send you back to square one. This is why we are always yo-yo dieting, by the way. 😑

Its the shape of the ice wall around the known world. Hence the vikings said the midgardsworm was encirclibg the world.
