I've been leaning towards the Grin Tech All-Axle direct drive motors. It really looks like an easy to use motor with a lot of useful features.
ОтветитьI have a 750 Monday motor anza I want to upgrade it it hits 27 but I want 45 mph at least and I’m willing to spend around 1500 the bike was 2000 so I think it’s worth it but it’s a fat tire bike do these mid drives have the power to deleiver 45mph
ОтветитьExcellent video, but when you were talking about the BBS02 you mentioned 52 w battery. Aren't they limited to 48 w batteries?
ОтветитьBikee bike lightest mid diive..1200 not including battery
1.75 kg. Motor and 4kg. 8.8 lbs lbs. Added to bike including small battery. An Italian company
I’m looking for some advice I’m a 300lb male and have a trek navigator what drive do I need and where I live have a lot of hills
ОтветитьExcellent! Get's the Like. Take care...
ОтветитьMy BBS02 has turned me into a cycling king! Essential points are: (1) Make sure that your bike is in full working order BEFORE fitting the kit and fit a new chain (2) Ensure that you regularly check the tightness of all your nuts and bolts - after 200 miles my bottom bracket had loosened and also a few spokes. (3) If you're going to do 30mph then fit a larger front brake rotor and hydraulic brakes. (4) 30% battery actually means almost zero - okay on the flat but forget assistance on hills!
ОтветитьI learned more from your 15 minute video then I did from hours of research online. I will be buying a bafang motor from you shortly. Thank you
ОтветитьHello, if the motors have a differense on bbs01 and bbs02... in appearance its is the same... may I put controller bafang 48v 750w in my bbs01??
ОтветитьI would go for CYC Photon, but the QC, Warranty and spare parts is deal breaker.
ОтветитьDo you have a recommended kit for converting a DH bike to a lightweight MotoX bike- no cranks and pedals, just pegs and a throttle ?
Ответитьgracias
Ответитьso what bikes do these motors fit on that can handle the torque and weight? I want to build a bike for hunting and fishing so i'll want to be able to haul a small trailer.
ОтветитьThe Cyclone motor is a beast, but your bike slowly eats itself while you ride it.
ОтветитьHi @JohnnyNerdOut, I've gone deep down the rabbit hole of your channel and am loving your content! Have you been keeping up with ToSeven's DM01 & DM02 motors? If you want torque control, it seems to be a better option than the Tongsheng as the gap between the motor and axle is much wider to support a broader range of geometries. Would love to see you review them. Thanks!
ОтветитьToSeven better choices, the QC and issues with Photon and repair constrictions pass until worked out. Bafang rules in the price and variant tunes and upgrade support in community. The Greek unit is cool but very pricey. The other CYC stuff is definitely power and sheer performance option. As the offerings mature and get really time tested as the various Bafangs have been.
ОтветитьI wish you had put pictures, images and prices of whatever you were talking about at the time.
Because I have no idea what you're talking about with all these brands and models and what to expect...
Wondering how safe pedal sensing is on a mtb. If you put torque down to pop a kerb or something how would it behave?
ОтветитьHey Johnny, I like to talk to you I am 6,6 tall 245 i need help
ОтветитьSuch great info. Thanks so much. Building my knowledge to prepare to convert my stump jumper.
ОтветитьGreat info !!! thank you
ОтветитьAll Stores Please Lower the price of all Military and Local for all Brands of Electric Bike Products and Accessories and Production Cost Now That's too much $$ The Whole World Now 🙏🙏🙏
Ответитьso happy i found your channel !! will be booking a consultation soon
ОтветитьI run a tsdz2 36v motor at +52v - it’s able to do decent wattage for a while - maybe 1k?
With custom firmware it’s well configurable - easy to repair, sort of
What do you think of Bafangs' new system wizth the M625 motor that will only work with Bafangs proprietary battery? I say proprietary because the battery and motor habd a special 2nd connector that will keep the motor from working if the battery you use does not have it connected to the motor.
ОтветитьGreat video Johnny! People like you are the foundation of the e-bike community. You’re helping to get people onto an e-bike, and hopefully out of a car, at least partially. You’ve already helped me immensely and I’ve only watched a few of your videos. Can’t imagine how many others you’ve helped through consultations. Keep up the great work bro. Cheers
ОтветитьIs there a way to fit a 100mm bafang to a 64mm BB? I bought the wrong size
Ответитьyou said 25 amps on a bbs02 58 volts, so what amps would you quote to the bbshd?
ОтветитьHi Johnny Thank you so much for your reviews. I have 2 questions 1) is it better for the battery to get a lower watt motor like a 250w to 500w. 2) Also please comment on this motor for reliability which puts out 95nm and is it good for reliability and parts?
ОтветитьHi Jonny love your channel just found you but straight away I new this guy was very knowledgeable and honest about what motor to use and why I currently have a 500W Hub Motor rear bafang on a standard dropout I was wondering how to install a torque sensor bottom bracket as I hate te feeling of got pedalling even in pa1 it ghost pedals so could you tell me the best option. I think all motors should have built-in torque sensor systems pas is old outdated technology
ОтветитьI wonder about power, and battery life, preferring a 1000 watt, and if I can spend as little energy with a 1000 watt, as I would with a 750 watt, if I went easy? Or does a bigger motor always consume more power regardless?............... If it is ever time, I may go for that consultation................. These ebikes are really getting boss. Once batteries become cheap, fast filled, long filled, and totally safe, which is all in the works presently, ebikes will become most ubiquitous..........I wonder if I toned down a BBSO2 by gearing it for more torque, and reducing it's top speed, if that would solve it? I do not need to go over 20-22mph anyway. By taking a quarter of the speed off, I would think it then to have some near equivocal torque as the 1000 watt. Or just go with the extra power, and have it when you need it, and go easy man, go easy.
Ответитьluna cycle does not sell hub motors anymore .
Ответитьbafang has huge building in europe too.
ОтветитьI found my bicycle, but it is in a range where it is non-affordable. Benno's 46er ($5000); that is exactly what I need for fitness riding e-touring, and cargo. What is your recommendation for a mid motor to be used for e-touring (lugging a total weight of 330lbs) and fitness riding? (2-n-1 bicycle).
ОтветитьPhoton is wonderfully quiet, smooth and gives linear acceleration, in my experience.
Saying that, my daily ride has a bb's...
Thanks @JohnnyNerdOut! Hey, why is there no option on this video to save? I wanted to save your video in a folder of the very most informative ebike videos I've seen.
Ответитьyou can change the wattage through the settings in the tongsheng afaik
ОтветитьI would like to get me a custom bike maid
ОтветитьI'm building my first dream Ebike using a good Motobecane X2 gravel bike.
I ordered the CYC Photon 750 watt from Canadian Golden Motors. It's 52 volts.
The Bafang mid drives do you have to peddle all the time with them motors?
ОтветитьIs a bbs02 different in UK to the US ? My cadence start is adjustable i have it set to start after 6 magnet pulses so i wont start if you move the pedals when stopped .
The speed I pedal has no affect on motor power output or max speed !
Also my motor is set to cut off the instant i stop pedaling .
I want full power while clown pedaling (SUPER SLOW KNEES OUT PEDDLING ZERO EFFORT ) one day and minimal assistance on another day , torque sensing cant do that ?
tsdz2 36v 500w tq sensing!!! have mine set up as cat I, has 4000miles love it
ОтветитьI wish there was a BBS-like motor that had much more clearance so it could be mounted inside the triangle.
ОтветитьI’m looking for a cheap bike to pair a bbs02 with. My brother said I’d need a multi thousand dollar bike or the frame would be too weak. There’s a ton of specialized rockhoppers and other cheap bikes around my area for under $500 used. There’s a mongoose ruddy comp a mile away even. There has to be a cheap mountain bike capable of the mid drive power right? Even has to be some new ones. Anybody have any suggestions?
ОтветитьSo 1 month later and I got the TSDZ2 and the motor gets hot, very hot but I expect it's not efficient and definitely upgrade to the open source firmware, I have not done this yet. I expect it will get very hot regardless of voltage.
My other ebike uses the Bosch Gen I 50 Nm motor and up very steep hills it's notably more powerful than the TSDZ2 and it runs cool, always.
So, after my testing I can without doubt assure People this is not an 80 Nm motor, at least with stock firmware and I would say it's got less than 50 Nm if the Bosch ( on a heavier bike ) is more powerful up steep hills 16-20%.
Up moderate hills and level ground it's fine but if you got lots of steep hills look elsewhere and don't bother with a throttle, the motor hasn't the power to be useful on anything other than level ground with the throttle.
I wonder now how many of these motor kits have been grossly over rated ?
love my cyc pro on my marin full suspension....so cool.
ОтветитьWhat is the best 250w bafang motor? For us europeans...
ОтветитьI reside in Canada, does your 500w Bafang kit come with a battery and charger as well
ОтветитьI like that front wheel halo you got going on there, St. Johnny
ОтветитьI’m a bigger guy at 380lbs what mid drive motor do you recommend and do you sell it on your site?
Ответить
