After the new chapter drop, Law and his crew did an amazing job. They did become strong because they actually fought Blackbeard in an almost equal footing until Bepo transformed into his sulong form and took Law to escape and trusting his crew to make it. we get to see Bepo acting like a true first mate as well by commanding his crew to do whatever it takes to protect their captain.

I guess it's important that Trafalgar & Kidd lose - it simplifies the story if Oda wants to focus more on Luffy and the others - but at the same time they can both come back much stronger and replace Shanks + Blackbeard - which I hope not since Shanks & Blackbeard have been around since more or less the beginning.

When i first read that law used shock wille against blackbeard from the get go, it was a digimon moment for me. In digimon, whenever the main character unlocked the most powerful powerup or evolution stage, he would use it immediately against a more powerful opponent. For example, wargreymon vs metal seadramom or piedmon. This is so different from the shounen formula which likes to take fight scenes one step at a time. For example, luffy still used gear 2 or gear 3 against doffy, katakuri and cracker even though he unlocked gear 4. This made for a slower pace fight scene. If oda wanted to drag this fight out, he would have law first used the more basic variants of room like gamma knife before resorting to his awakened techniques.

At least they put up a much better fight than Kid did against Shanks

Big brian law, just make a room that goes deep enough and switch his crew with sand or rocks at the bottom and then you can just solo blackbeard without his crew and and then send him packing for new commanders lol.

I feel like so much has happened just since the end of wano, we have multiple huge characters that all in all if you look back actually haven’t done much throughout the story because they were off somewhere else and not heavily involved but now everyone is making a move. We have everything on egghead with the reveal of vegapunk and the seraphims with kizaru and Saturn about to engage the straw hats, we had this battle, we had kid making his move against shanks, we had garp engaging the Blackbeard pirates to save koby etc. you can tell oda is putting everyone in the places they need to be so he can start to wrap everything up. I mean look at our main characters and how much they’ve grown they still have a bit to go but can’t get that much stronger comparatively. Luffy and his crew are almost at their peak strengths that we’ll most likely ever see them

hope Toei don't fuck up this opening for a fight already great.. man Oda really make him feel like a pirate. A fight start with a laugh and a quake punch from Teach, after that many attack from the BB crew to take advantage... force law to land on the winner island, and Law strike backk with his gamma knife, then both start the battle, the winner take all... This is a greate opening for a fight like a pirates dudeeee... there is no intro, he make an intro with a punch and the attack feel like a real ambush..

Black beard got hella lucky the straw hats didn't take this route, they would have sunk BB and cut the one piece story down by 3000 chapters lol.
