Alpha CC vs Maxis Match

I am more of cute cc whatever it is. I just hate MM textures in jewerly, clothing and hair.

I can't be the only one who actually doesn't know the difference between the two outside of hair(like I know the difference for hair that is it) right?

Usually I use maxis match hair with some alpha clothes. I haven't been playing long, but I have noticed that Alpha hairs tend to glitch really badly. I deleted all of mine for that reason. Maybe I just ended up with some bad CC but I would have Sims lookin like they took a crap ton of Sun-In to their hair in game with Alpha hair.

honestly, this idea that console players are losing their minds for PC players is getting old. yall act like we don't have access to a PC. most of my friends who enjoy sims play it on PC and play all other games on console.

It took until like two weeks ago for me to realize that there was a difference between MM and Alpha and not that it was just a different style. So. I didn't know, nor will I understand, that there's drama about this. Seems very silly. I just pick and choose between things I think look nice and go on with my day 😂

I loooooved alpha cc in the sims 2, but in the Sims 4 it just clashes a bit too much for me

As a console player by heart I like maxis mix because it is most like what I am used to but not boring like vanilla sims. (Btw I am making my first pc soon can someone give me an idea on what cc is good?)

i used to play with cc alpha but i was never happy, i don't like the realisitic look .

I need my sims to have maxis match hair (but with more swatches! - this games has awful pastells and neons) the rest can be alpha or maxis

Tbh As a console player I really like seeing all of the mods and stuff I think Max is match and alpha CC both look really cool mind you I can have them in my game but I like seeing them

When i was younger i loved alpha cc and I only downloaded alpha cc and i remember i thought mm was boring😅but today i'm a mm girl and i switched to mm about a year ago and i didn't regret anything❤i deleted all the alpha cc i had

I straight did not know there was a difference in the types of CC I've only been playing the game for like a year and never played any of the early ones. i only have one pack (cats & dogs) so i literally just download all of the pretty cc no matter what type it is >D

I've got The Sims & all expansion packs for it. I've got The Sims 2 & all packs for that too. Heck, I've even got the original Sim City that was written to be played on the Commodore 64. In a way, The Sims took Sim City & turned it inside out, forming a community out of individuals instead of forming a community that's populated by unknowable individuals. The creation of The Sims was originally inspired by Sim City, right from the start. How many other people actually remember the Maxis team saying that in an interview?

One of the things that got me sticking with The Sims franchise for so long is that its very beginning was meant to be infinitely customizable. If you've got compatibility issues between different mods or other CC, then that's what needs to be resolved; It's not a problem of compatibility with The Sims itself, it's a matter compatibility with each other & how that mixture being unplayable. Whenever I see people arguing against each other over their own personal preferences I just think, "What's the point? The Sims can be whatever you want it to be."
Regardless if it's CC you write yourself or download from somewhere else, IT'S THERE FOR YOU...Heck I can still find mods & CC for The Sims original in some places online, being hosted by archivists and/or other people with long-term dedication with The Sims as a whole. Wherever FGG found something in a certain website a year ago, it's not even certain that the same website even exists anymore; there's a reasonable chance you may find it somewhere else though. For keeping track of so many different websites goes, the only real practical reason is if you have trouble with the original download & need to go back to download it again.

It's all a matter of subjective opinion. I'm with you on that sentiment, FGG.

I wish they updated the occult packs for infants and toddlers. I love playing with occult sims but it’s hard to customize vampire and spellcaster infants and toddlers to match the vibe. I’m also a console player so I don’t have access to mods and cc. I’d also love to see more tattoos in the game. I feel like that would be a great stuff pack

In my opinion maxis match just look ten times better making a cartoony game look realistic is just going to look weird they made it cartoony for a reason

MM has my vote, I'm definitely biased, but I'm currently playing without cc except for custom face presents and sliders, so I will give myself a pass. Also, I've seen so stunning alpha cc sims, but your just isn't it, definitely because you aren't used to it, but still, your sim can't show off the full potential of alpha cc because creating stunning alpha sims is a skill to learn and oh god it is hard.

in my opinion i like mm better because it blends in better to the game whilst alpha cc is more realistic and stand out more to the point it can sometimes be scary when next to the cartoony style of the sims 4

I strongly dislike Alpha CC, its very uncanny and strays away from the artstyle of the Sims 4.

I prefer Maxis Match mainly because a lot of alpha clothes rarely look good on plus sized sims.

I love the alpha skin overlay and like the blush details, the maxis match outfit is my fave, and I like the maxis make up as well

Alpha cc hair clashes so hard, no matter how pretty it is on tsr, most of that is rendered in blender or whatever anyway, I like alpha makeup and some clothes but the hair always looks so bad in game to me

maxis match ccis really good when you want your game to be lightly modded and want to still be able to use the items that come in the game and in the packs however if you just have the base game and want your game to be hyper realistic and heavily modded alpha cc is more fitting.

so it really just depends on how you play the game but if you’re only gonna have a little bit of cc, it has to be Maxis match because alpha cc looks really out of place.

I also have 3 different “modes” when it comes to aesthetic: Goblin (my default; also doubles as sleepwear), “I got dressed today” (a graphic T-shirt and jeans shorts; not much to brag about, but I can go out in public now), and Teenage Dirtbag (when I actually put effort into looking alt).
