Hey Tim and all...this is all great advice. May I suggest everyone who is serious buy the book "Best Loser Wins--Why Normal Thinking Never Wins the Trading Game" by high stakes trader, Tom Hougaard. Your philosophy and his are very similar, but his book will add more along the same lines to your thinking and trading mind.

Great Advice.
I'm a new trader. I've been trading micro-futures for a couple of months now. I have found that the trading is kind of easy. Every day I manage to get my account into the green .... then lose it all and MORE by the end of the day. Overtrading from greed, boredom, gambling mindset, etc.
I'm going to blow up my account if I can't this under control! You're so right! I seem to be defeating myself!

Great video, I think the reason losing is so hard in trading is the way in which society looks at losing as children we are told a loser never quits. Growing up with that mind set is okay outside of trading, but in trading that will hurt the trader, and their account. It took me years to overcome losing, and how I did it was if I had a losing trade and follow my rules to the letter and still lost I can deal with that; because I trust my stragety, but if I had a losing trade and made a mistake by not focusing, FOMO, or going against the rules that will brother me to no end so my key was just follow the process. Thank You

I really don't mind losing as long as my balance is still higher than the original deposit. That's still money I didn't have before.
Of course I also don't do this for a living, it's just a side gig

As long as your strategy has a positive expectancy over the long term, a trader's focus should be on more critical matters like discipline, psychology and risk mgmt. Looking for holy grail is just a bloody waste of time, money

Man that obsession point is crazy ! I thunk you're right. It does have to be an obsession at first... but i feel like once i started to relax and not be so trading crazy, i took emotions out and began to win. Granted its taken me 3yrs and having the trust in my strategy

Lots of generalities, still waiting for him to say it, ok 2/3 way through the video finally get to the how, which is what this video's about. Incomplete video though, nobody watching this video is going to learn how to master their emotions, because he didn't really explain it. Rules and a plan are key. Telling people to control their emotions isn't going to help them, and telling them to think about how they'll feel if they lose won't either. Doesn't explain risk management or how to make a plan.

great video. for me the best thing I took away from this was along the lines of 'how would you feel if you lost this trade' before placing the trade. helped me psychologically with lot size placement.

I dont even trade forex but I can honestly tell you that you touched on some very crucial points

I can go 3 weeks without a loss, then the 1 loss I have will cause me to spiral and lose all the work from 3 weeks because of revenge trading. I need to learn how to manage that but I still don’t know how.
