Just got a letter from Synchrony. 5.65% for 14month CD, Have to open by Dec 4th.
ОтветитьMy credit union BECU just dropped a 5.75% APY 3-5 month CD
ОтветитьCurrent Bank of OZK is offering new customers CD rate is 5.60% @ 13 months.
ОтветитьLove this! Thank you for the information. Question, can I move money held in a retirement bank at edward jones straight into the CD?
ОтветитьI’m in perpetual catch-up mode here and am loving the backlog of content here. 🙂 Despite being a “very special boy” as my kindergarten teacher once called me, I don’t qualify for any of those super high yield CDs. 😔 Fidelity still offers the best available to me and those CDs have great rates. I’m not in the market for CDs just yet as I’m still working on Treasury securities, but it’s good to take a peak over the fence and see what’s growing in the neighbors garden so to speak. 👍
ОтветитьI have a 5 year cd ladder with average 5.10
ОтветитьCD are called GIC in Canada 😊
ОтветитьLooking to open no penalty CDs. What is the going CD interest rate now in October 2023? I am a new subscriber.
ОтветитьWhy do a CD when I currently have a high yield savings at 5.25. No fees.
ОтветитьIsn’t there a limit to treasuries of only being able to buy $10k per year vs the CD which has unlimited deposits in some banks?
ОтветитьAlly Bank 5 yr CD at 4.1%, their high yield savings account is currently at 4.25%. PENFED has a 7 year CD at 3.9%. I plan to get into 5 and 7 year T Notes very shortly here.
ОтветитьHi Jennifer, have you seen this 6.55% 10-year corporate bond from Bank of America (CUSIP= 06055JCN7)? It's callable after 2 years. Can you analyse if this is worth it? Why would BoA do this?
ОтветитьCapitol One 360 CD is now offering a 10 month CD at 5.3% APY and 5% on 12 and 18 month.
ОтветитьI saw BofA offering 6.5% corp bond, any thoughts?
ОтветитьFYI: You cannot withdraw your money from a No Penalty CD for the first 30 days on Raisin
ОтветитьNice, I don't qualify for those first two, but my credit union (Suncoast CU) has an 11 month CD at 5.75 APY, $500 minimum. I think it has to be "new money" though
ОтветитьJust found a 5.7% 12 month JPMorgan on Fidelity. If it’s a joint account you have up to $500k covered by FDIC insurance.
Ответитьvery helpful! Thank you
Ответитьis Laurel Road Bank legit? It offers $300 opening bonus with direct deposit, and monthly bonus with qualifying direct deposit every month, plus 5% rate on HYSA
ОтветитьStill prefer T bills at this time, more flexibility and no state tax.
ОтветитьThank you for great videos. I ran across saw this bank offers 6% for CD, It is humancredit. Can you tell us what you think, thanks.
ОтветитьDo u think my local Wescom Credit Union may be in trouble? How would I know? I just received a booklet from them that says "Your account(s) may be terminated or closed by us at any time, without prior notification."
ОтветитьI have 3 12-month CDs in CFG Bank for 5.29%, 5.37%, and 5.53% interest rate. I have never bought a t-bill, but will look into it because I am also in a high taxing state. Thanks for the comparison.
ОтветитьSound advice Jen.
Ответитьyou presentation is better than any other financial info site or channel. using a table really compresses the info and allows for comparison. thanks!
ОтветитьI got one for 12 months @9.0 APY 😉
ОтветитьYour very good with tbill, cds. Bonds ..how about giving context in relation to the FEDS dilemma …your opinion on how bad things will get..and will the banks collapse slowly or like a house of cards. Or not at all😂
Ответитьplease forgive the rudeness of this question, we can't control what's happening in the world, but we do have to make good choices for ourselves. with America obviously getting involved in another starting war i am trying to wrap my head around how the gears turn. inflation? deflation? higher bond yields. ect.
ОтветитьWill definitely follow this channel and wanna to see how ppl end up...really strange to see general people "investing" in these tools.
ОтветитьHi Jennifer, should I Lock in for 18 months at 5.5% right now, or should I wait for future higher rates?? Do you foresee higher coming? I don't want to lose out on the current 5% rates if it goes away. Thank you!🌟
ОтветитьGreat content. I agree that all platforms seem to be pointing to higher yields in the near future.
ОтветитьThanks so much for valuable and helpful updates! Not a fan of online banks!
ОтветитьCD rates going up as regional banks need cash.
ОтветитьI recently purchased a 12 month CD from ALL IN Credit Union. There offer a 12 month add on CD with an APY of 3.75 and an 18-month CD with 5.54 APY. It is easy to qualify for membership and the penalty for eary withdrawal is 90 days of interest.
ОтветитьState taxes?? Living in the socialist state of New Jersey, I don't look up what's taxed, I actually have to look up what is NOT taxed! It's a much smaller list.
ОтветитьMy current fixed income strategy is 30% short-term t-bills, 60% medium term (~ 12 month) CDs, and 10% MM funds (for emergencies). Seems to work and is flexible enough to capitalize on increasing interest rates. And only possible because of the current interest rare situation. Keeps me occupied moving money around and keeps my hands off my investment accounts.
ОтветитьQuestion.... Are these CD's Callable or Non Callable?
ОтветитьI used to have an even mix of CDs & Treasuries. After the banking scare earlier this year I haven't put a dime into another CD. Why? Because I don't trust the banks right now. Sure, deposits are FDIC insured to $250K per depositor, but I don't want to go through the anxiety and possible hassle to get paid should a bank fail... and what's on their books these days is scary.
ОтветитьToo many restrictions, and wouldn’t trust pr with my money
ОтветитьThanks Jen I always learn something from your videos. I’m holding off for now believing that rates will go higher for longer but will purchase something, CD or treasury in November as I have a 5% CD with a local CU maturing then. I also want to see what IBonds will offer.
ОтветитьThat Puerto Rico customer service number is an Illinois Area Code, hmmm
ОтветитьNone of these compare to Vanguard’s money market that currently pays 5.44% APR with no maximum amount, insured up to $250k per person and money isn’t tied up. Funds may be deposited one day and taken out the next day, And the rate has been increasing. The only fee is the annual .11% expense ratio. So why bother with these CD,s?
ОтветитьGoing up
ОтветитьYou do a remarkably good job. Your presentation is concise, detailed and well-composed. I am sure that your videos have helped a lot of people. Please keep up the good work.
Ответитьcfg & brio have cd 5,25 % & 5.35%
ОтветитьGood info for somebody Jen but just not me ..... I only want to tie up my extra money for 1 or 2 months max so I'll be sticking with my save & sound T-Bills for the time being ..... Keep doing what you do young lady by giving use all sound financial advice.
ОтветитьAll kinds of great CDs out there. I have three making 5.50% APR and another one making 4.40% APR (opened over a year ago).
ОтветитьOrion Federal Credit Union has a 6% APY Premium Checking account for up to $10K. You just have to spend $500 per month and deposit $500 per month. They also offer a 13-month CD yielding 5.50% APY ($500 minimum deposit).
ОтветитьWhat do you think about a fixed rate strategy using the 10 year T bond around 6.5% if it gets there and a good some of money in shorter term fixed income investment for over 60 investors.
Ответить
