I really wish you would focus on some Danish films featuring Mads Mikkelsen. He’s been in 4 (almost 5) Oscar nominated films and I never see them on any of your lists or analysis. I love your channel but maybe give some other fabulous movies props too? (This is by no means a dig at the channel. Just a wistful thought/a hope)
ОтветитьLiterally every 2nd comment: I know that it is a subjective list but I think xy film should have been there. And also, xy is such a hilarious pick! XDD
ОтветитьThis was 7 years too early to be a Babylon style montage.
ОтветитьChinatown is my fav too❤
ОтветитьIts an amazing list but the order is def wacky, haha. And I dont know wth Robin Hood is doing there, hahaha. Good choices overall.
ОтветитьName of the last music ???
ОтветитьReally...? Not a single star wars movie. Idk Empire is a masterpiece. A New Hope is really good too.
ОтветитьIndiana Jones, Jurassic Park, I don’t see ShawShank Redemption either
ОтветитьGet rid of all the foreign films nobody has ever heard of, and you have a good starting point
ОтветитьWow Chinatown came out of left field. Not that I don't like it I just don't compare it to the Godfather or Citizen Kane.
ОтветитьNo Lynch? Mulholland Drive and Blue Velvet make some of the movies on that list look like soap operas.
ОтветитьAll lists are personal of course, but picking Before Midnight instead of the two other (pretty much universally) more lauded films in the trilogy feels like some true edgelord-ing.
ОтветитьHonestly anything with Charlie Chaplin just icks me because he was a fucking creep
Ответить5. The Shinning
4. The End of Evangelion
3. Decision to Leave
2. 12 Angry Men
1. Seven Samurai

ОтветитьI understand your talk 50 it makes sense. My top 50 favorite films would be different because it's my experience. I see your top 50 as The effects films had on other films.
Gotta see that Bruce Lee movie it looks ridiculously amazing how was he Bridging his back hanging like that though it was awesome. I used to be in gymnastics I can't imagine the muscles you would need to do that move. And I know he didn't use any rope there's no way.
Sunset boulevard - Billy Wilder Best movie ever made
ОтветитьI really love your channel. I saw all the movies from your top 50 and also from your top 100. You really got me loving movies and appreciate it as an art form
and showed me some masterpieces that I wouldn't have seen otherwise
The master was horrible
ОтветитьThe silence of the lambs is transphobic because it suggests that trans people are less than perfect which is not allowed in this great world of ours
ОтветитьMy personal pick for the top 5 best movies of all time goes as followed:
1. The Godfather: Easily the best script I've ever read, and probably the best movie experience I've ever had. The cast is among the best of all time, the cinematography is brilliant, the themes, ideas, philosophies, and layers to this film could be talked about for days and there could still be more to uncover. It's possibly the best use of subtext in a movie that I've ever seen and has likely the greatest character transformation in any movie. Engrossing drama from start to finish and functions as a very emotionally intelligent tragedy to Shakespearean proportions.
2. 2001: A Space Odyssey: The best theater experience I've ever had, hands down. Brilliant from start to finish from the amazing cinematography, iconic score, timeless and dazzling visuals, immense layers of thematic and philosophical depth, and one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history, and you have a masterpiece
3. Citizen Kane: For a lot of movies, I often can't understand why they're held in such high regard such as The Shawshank Redemption (I hold it in high regard, but the best movie ever made? Seriously?) and others. Citizen Kane is an exception. It was constantly entertaining, boasting amazing performances particularly from Orsen Welles who delivers one of the greatest cinematic performances ever, a brilliantly constructed and written screenplay, and hidden meaning that truly touched me that few movies likely ever will. I absolutely understand why it's considered the greatest movie of all time, even if I don't personally agree.
4. The Godfather Part 2: This movie jumps between number 4 and number 1 quite a lot. I think right now it's number 4 simply because I haven't rewatched it in a while. I adore this movie. It's longer, darker, and more haunting than the first. It's a more philosphical movie about a man's spiritual downfall and a thrillingly rich character study of this man. It's brilliantly structured and superbly written, consisting of some of the best cinematography ever and arguably Gordon Willis' finest work ever.
5. Casablanca: What's there to say about this movie? It's brilliant. It's up there for the greatest script ever made. Amazing performances from Bogart and the rest of the cast, strong themes, snappy dialogue, etc. It's perfect.
Impressive video. Very nice. Awesome list. You have a great taste for movies 👍

Are these really your faves? You sit down after a long hard day and pick from this list, Not Octopussy or Rush Hour? Or do you just want others to believe you have depth?
ОтветитьCarmine Jones
ОтветитьMy Top 1 matches with your list: China Town!
ОтветитьDid Jaws not make this list?
ОтветитьHonestly I've never understood why classics like 2001, Citizen Kane, Casablanca are considered the BEST movies ever made. Yes, they introduced innovative and revolutionary methods of filmmaking and storytelling and obviously deserve high places in history, but aside from that, they really just seem like style over substance to me. I think the best movies should have a near perfcet balance of both while still being intelligent, entertaining, gripping, and deeply emotionally effective.
ОтветитьNot a single one with any appearance by Pauly Shore or Adam Sandler as director. I'm just so appalled. There my favorites and should be you'res, two. :)
ОтветитьI'm going to just assume you accidentally forgot to include The Lord of the Rings, gattica, The Dark Knight, the prestige, the Truman show, up, The Prince of Egypt, Infinity War, A beautiful mind, catch me if you can, and the matrix.
ОтветитьThe top 10….not so much
ОтветитьBizarre list that not only seems random for some of the movies you've picked but also for some movies you've omitted. The order they're in too seams equally random. Laughable. Too many Hollywood pops, not enough Fellini, Bergman, Tarkovsky, Kurosawa, Hitchcock, Kubrick. No Eisenstein or Truffaut or Godard.
ОтветитьNo 'There will be blood'
ОтветитьYou guys suck
