The benegeserit
ОтветитьI have been rewatching a lot of these videos, and i realised only now thay i realisenwhy the next book is taking so long. Martin has made so many side stories and mysterious character and events that tying it all together is a herculean task. He could write 2 books and still leave mysteries unanswered, still leave plots and stories unended. There is definitely a good reason he is so delayed. His story has become so convuluded that even he cannot keep up anymore.
ОтветитьHow TF is this one man's writing?
Ответить"to show them that magic dosen't work"
This is so bad I expected them to
it. doesn't. matter.
just..........stop
collect funkos or something
but this is pathetic
How does it feel knowing Winds is finally out and this whole video is fraudulent?
ОтветитьPycelle was* grandmaester, and also a useless sack of bones who spends all his time whining and kissing ass. I can't imagine him being a part if any grand conspiracy
ОтветитьMaegor should have finished the job and got rid of them then and there XD Maybe an upopular opinion but he at least tried to protect the Targaryens and saw their danger.
ОтветитьI definitely think the Maesters are behind the death of Viserys in House of The Dragon. In the 1st episode the maester even stated what would happen if you had an accident, Viserys took this that he meant Daemon but i think it was an in plain sight moment. Plus throughout the whole show you notice the maester has been controlling what he drinks.
ОтветитьI personally see this as less conspiracy and more agenda. All Maesters, except for a few outliers like Marwyn, will end up holding a lot of the same views. They are doctors, academics, historians, scripes, advisors, war strategists, educators and the communication network (through ravens) all rolled into one. Their viewpoints are very practical, their reasoning is very rational. There might not be a secret meeting where maesters in dark cloaks agree to manipulate the 7 kingdoms into removing magics and dragons from the realm, but they sure as heck wouldnt be the ones to recommend it to their lords.
Best example i have is why Maester Cressan tried to kill Melisandre. it was a desperate act from an aged and rational man, choosing to betray Lord Stannis fearing that his lord whom he loves and respected so much was falling to magics that will demand too much. A grand conspiracy of archmaesters at Hightower didnt need to send him a cheeky raven telling him to poison the red witch, he did so due to who he was based on the life he lived.
The (((marsters))) tottaly fake conspiracy. I Wonder were George got that idea from
Ответитьi love watching these old theory videos and being really disappointed in how things ended up in the show
ОтветитьPycelle and Cressen put to bed the lie that the Maesters are politically neutral. Throw that thought out the window.
ОтветитьWhen they say they killed all the dragons it means the Fall of Valiria and the death of the dragons and the dragon lords... Aka the maesters want to destroy magic so they caused the volcano to erupt 🫡 just a theory though
ОтветитьI always love the content! But some of these old videos sound like you forgot to take the mic out of the box before you used it. Lol
ОтветитьPycelle is the purposely most incompetent.. The deleted scene where Tywin calls him out is the best 😂
Ответить"No, the maester's aren't conspiring against magic, but even if they were they'd have good reasons to do it."
Spoken like a Hightower.
"The next book he says" lol
RIP GRRM
Regarding the taboo about magic that supposedly doesn't exist, consider how in our world laws against divination, cunning traditions and witchcraft proliferated for a time, and then vanished in the modern era after being stamped out (in public, hence the word occult). However in many regions of the world that aren't quite so dominated by Western Materialist dogma, we see these laws still in effect.
What I'm trying to say is: you don't ban things that don't exist.
I could totally seeing this being a loaned idea from Dune with the whole Benne Gesserit plot
Ответитьthe way the maester in winterfell that was in the series aswell was soo annoying he tried to make ned stark go to kings landing and unfortunately ned listend to the maester and not to cat and thats why he died
ОтветитьYeah but DJ Khaled?
Ответитьtime to comment on a 7 year old video: taking the idea of a maester conspiracy into account, I always thought the thing where they leave the acolyte in a room alone with a glass candle was their way of trying to find any and all acolytes who could possibly use magic. like most of them aren't gonna be able to light the candle so it's widely believed to be a Kobayashi-maru kinda test. meanwhile, the maesters, who know full well magic still exists, can set aside those who light the candle for some sort of special training. maybe these maesters are the reason magic has become weak in Westeros. idk I know ASOIAF can be heavy handed at times, but something about the glass candle and the way they talk about it felt too on the nose.
Ответитьit was stated that dragons lay more eggs and grow faster on dragonstone. maybe because there are fewer maesters.
ОтветитьMaybe Marwyn meant the eggs were prevented from hatching.
ОтветитьTo bad we will never know the truth of any of these conspiracies. GRRM made the most incredible world in literature and let it die 😢
Ответитьwhy did you do Cressen like that?
poor old man suffered enough and just gets replaced by a shady guy from the new show
I think Archmaester Mareyn thinks that the maesters kill the dragons because they were the counselors of the kings and lords, so their bad advices led to war, and the destruction of Targaryen dinasty🤔🤔
ОтветитьA friend of mine said an interesting thing that very much applies here I believe, that the rich don't need to sit in a big dark room together to plot how to best serve their rich friends, they know what other rich people want and need. In the same way a lot of the Maesters are like minded and share the same feelings about the dragons. So without having to get together in a dark room to plot, they know what would be best for their goals, add in some personal drama, the fact that the less people in on a big secret, the more likely it is for it to stay a secret and the Maesters subtly scraping away at the Targaryens for a few centuries with some help from the Hightowers, the faith, the commons, and the Targaryen's self destructive tendencies seems a lot easier to accept on a case by case basis rather than a long intricate plot.
ОтветитьMaybe the dragons got smaller over time because of Valyrias fall.
The magic was declining, and the dragons were affected by it as well.
And if the Red Comet really is the reason for the return of the dragons and magic in the West, it might have revitalized everything so much that Danys trio are gonna grow to the massive sizes of the pre-Doom dragons.
Shift is so real for putting Mellos on the thumb
ОтветитьDid you change the thumbnail? Because seven years ago, Mellos or HOTD hasn't aired yet
ОтветитьIn summary: a maester conspiracy is possible, but not probable.
ОтветитьOr they were just a plot device for Sam to read a scroll of Jon's parents secret marriage, as in the last seasons.
Sadly..
IF a maester conspiracy of magic exists, it will have to contend with euron, I get a feeling like whatever happens in old town will disrupt whatever elements are trying to suppress magic.
ОтветитьFind out more in the next book. Imagine it being 7 years later and we are still waiting
ОтветитьThis guy is in the Maesters pockets!!
ОтветитьThe easiest lie is the one you want to believe. Pycele says he loves Lannisters. They settle for being feared, but…
So, he puts on a show and tells them what they want to hear.
A lot of this just sounds like what Maesters would want you to think
ОтветитьBarbery Dustin may be onto something. She could have been referring to Summerhall 🤷Can't wait to learn more about Marwyn and Mirri Maz Dur... hopefully one day. Oo yeah, The Sphinx. Ill probably read the books. AGAIN 😁 im getting a 3 Eyed Raven tattoo next week. I have a very old tat that needs covering and found a good design✌️
ОтветитьMy personal maester conspiracy headcanon is that it’s a commentary on how some people want to believe there’s a shadowy force pulling all the strings—a commentary on people who always want to believe in big conspiracies and the lack of evidence only makes them believe harder because it absolves humanity at large of guilt or blame for horrific tragedies
Ответить(((Hightower)))
Ответить7 years ago holy shit
ОтветитьPycelle kinda perplexed me. He acts like this silly old and pathetic man, but he's gived the most important position of all the meisters
ОтветитьThe Mage says that "he was allowed to stay at the Wall" not exiled there. Aemon apparently wanted that for his own reasons, but if not for his blood the Citadel would be able to pressure him to return there and take up the position.
ОтветитьThey’re trying to do what the dem/liberals are doing and that’s radars history so they can make it what they want and fit their agenda.
ОтветитьThe maesters paid the faceless men in Lannister gold to kill the fire Mages of old valereya. That caused the volcanos to erupt which killed most the dragons. It is known.
Ответить
