Loved both videos so far! keep it up!
ОтветитьForza Motorsport is a shame
ОтветитьLiked the video as soon as I heard that TPAB analogy
Ответитьmy dad was one of the devs who worked on juiced
ОтветитьLove how everyone talking about acrade racing games skip over Mario Kart like it isn't in the same genre. I guess people are mad its the best non sim racing game you can get for your money. Imagine showing up to a party and instead of bringing Mario Kart you say "who wants to play Forza?!" Literally nobody. Not only are the players confused but it seems like the devs don't know if they want to make an arcade or sim so they just mash it all together. I will admit Forza does this mash up the best imo but it doesn't make it a good game.
ОтветитьMy 6th Time watching this video it was so well done
ОтветитьVideo games were in their golden age in general (especially Star Wars games) during the 6th and 7th gen consoles. Modern gaming sucks, especially with all the "money now fix later" mentality and especially with all the monetization... I hate just thinking about it 😭 Great video 👏
ОтветитьLewis Hamilton who has stated he hates Sim racing. And also a Logitech which is the worst wheel you can buy. Come on man. Otherwise great vid.
ОтветитьCame from the future to talk about how bad Forza reboot turned out to be...
Ответитьbummer you missed the project gotham racing series completely. PGR2 was my favorite game along with another game you didn't mention, need for speed: porsche unleashed.
Edit: apologies, spoke too soon about the PGR part. but you should have mentioned the kudos system.
Depends on what you like and what you expect. Last night, I've played again Option Tuning Car Battle and later on Naniwa Wangan Battle. Both are japanese PSX Racing games that were published in 1998. I still like them for the iconic ricers (NWB features also a Camaro) you drive and the atmosphere is still as great as 25 years ago. Today racing games are really polished to almost reality-look-a-likes. But this doesn't mean they have to feel better than their grandfahthers.
ОтветитьCool video. Disrespected the two the crew games for the modern era but itz fine
ОтветитьThe thing is that GT really was the pinnacle of sim racing once upon a time. Then sim racing started an PC. It’s always been niche but games like GT and Forza cannot compare to the hardcore sims like iracing, RF2, automobilista 2 and AC and ACC. I can do the same race in GT and ACC and it will be way more demanding on ACC than GT. Sometimes though you just wanna race. That’s where those games shine for me so it’s definitely a huge letdown that both franchises are on the decline now. GT VR though is still amazeballs
ОтветитьThey're just as good we just got older
ОтветитьAnybody from the 90's miss gran turismo? License challeges, earning money for new cars/upgrades tournaments etc and completly offline 😅 games have changed so much man where i feel like i need a degree to fully understand how to play a game. Feels to me like the concept of gaming is lost on how something looks, rather than how fun it is to play. Maybe i speak for myself on this, but i would rather play retro 8 bit games than the latest and greatest graphically advanced £60 game
ОтветитьNeed someone to make a video essay on the decline of simcade racing games
ОтветитьKeep in mind this was made before motorfest
ОтветитьOne thing to say about the current state of NFS, that nobody talks about.
These games aren't that fun in my opinion because they just lost focus in the series. NFS Heat for example tries to be NFS Underground, Hot Pursuit, Forza Horizon and Burnout in one game. It's just too much and all over the place.
This made me at least appreciate HP2010, a game which I hated at release, for its focused and no nonsense Gameplay.
I also just don't get why EA don't just order 3 games from their countless studios. NFS Classic (HP Style), NFS Street (Like Underground or MW) and Burnout. Make solid base games and just provide good DLCs in a regular schedule
Nfs 2015 was great
Ответитьmf doom music every video i love it every time i like your talking i like ur music i like ur videos i like ur editing when mf doom video though..... real goat status ur
ОтветитьLove this video!
ОтветитьI was not expecting the DBZ Abridged reference to describe Forza Horizon 5... and I 100% agree with it.
ОтветитьI primarily game on PlayStation and Switch. I haven’t played a GOOD racing game since the PS3 era :(
ОтветитьI think you just grew up bro
ОтветитьIt's very subjective I guess. I feel like the newer generation would consider the recent games as special just because they grew up playing that.
ОтветитьGreat video and a sad insight on not only racing games, but games as a whole nowadays. We need publishers to give devs proper development time, and allow them to listen to their fans.
ОтветитьI spent so much time on Underground 2 as a kid. NFS died after MW imo.
Ответитьhighly dissapointed you didnt involve wrc or dirt rally. not to mention rbr
ОтветитьAnother beautiful example of unhinged nostalgia trip
Ответитьcan we all agree that GT Sport was shi* tho?
Ответитьracing game never had a future. why would i play a racing game when we all knew that GTA will surpass any racing game. why play a racing game when you can race in a open world game that allows you to do sooo much more then racing.
ОтветитьYou just had to be around in the time for TDU2. Hard to say if it was my favourite of all time but it's definitely worth considering.
Also VRally was a notably enjoyable series in its time.
TDU2 is still my favorite racing game by far
ОтветитьI haven't played My Summer Car, but art of rally is pretty solid. Horizon Chase Turbo is a good one for fans of 80s style retro racing. GRIP and Wreckfest are also pretty good spiritual successors from developers who have made such iconic racing games of yesteryear. Plus, there's the 2017 arcade racer: Cruis'n Blast, which got ported to the Switch a couple of years ago and is what I think to be the best in the series.
But yeah, there is a number of quality titles from small studios and indie developers if you know where to look. And that's not even covering the fan games and mods currently released and worked on at this point.
Richard Burns Rally and Assetto Corsa have only become better over the years.
ОтветитьTrack names in the background?
ОтветитьI hope forza motorsport is a good game
Ответитьhold on nfs rivals was kinda good though and that released in 2013
ОтветитьAnother indie game recommendation is Inertial Drift. Its arcade as fuck but the controls are super unique and it judt oozes style. Every car is super different and it even has a solid dlc expansion if you run out of base game content. The only negative I can speak to is the fact that barely anyone plays online. Playing Inertial Drift split screen with a friend is what sparked my recent interest in racing games to begin with.
ОтветитьCriterion ruined NFS imo. I hate how they feel like Burnout
Ответитьneed for speed is like the god of racing games! especially modern need for speed! Its Amazing
ОтветитьMan what was the cinomatographic police chases in Driver 1 for ps1.
ОтветитьI wish SEGA came back and made another GT game
Ответить
